I switched to Gianvi from yaz because of the price after yaz stopped that cool $25 program. I wasn’t interested in paying over $50 for birth control. I must admit, I was freaking out after I read the reviews on this site. My doctor calmed me down after I called her and she was right. There is one positive review on this site that I read that gave me courage to try. Therefore, ladies I have to echo...

DO NOT TAKE THIS. I was on yaz for 2 years, and did fine, minus the final withdrawal. but this drug, by day 2 turned me into a mental case. COMPLETELY PSYCHOTICLY DEPRESSED, it's made me feel like life is nothing, and my boyfriend and i constantly fight and i'm this insecure, negative nutcase. this is a very bad birth control pill, and it does not have the same ingredient to combat PMDD. It makes ...

I'm SO surprised that there are so many negative reviews. This is easily the best birth control available! I've been on Gianvi for about 16 months and haven't has a single issue. I started this bc at 8 weeks post-baby with bad hormonal acne and 10 lbs heavier than pre-baby weight. After the 3rd or 4th pack, I had a clear face and weighed 5 lbs less than before I got pregnant! I've recommended this to several friends and 2 have gotten on it and we're very pleased with their results as well!

The worst birth control pill, ever. While I was on gianvi I was constantly upset to the point where I thought I might have a conniption. My boyfriend and I fought day in and day out and I was screaming my lungs out for the littlest things. Gianvi made me bat-sh!t crazy. I switched after 3 months on it to Natazia which was MUCH better. On gianvi I was still bleeding heavily and it was just not worth it! I've also tried microgestin but I was still moody on that. Natazia has so far been the best for me. Steer clear of gianvi unless you want to have a meltdown on the daily.Read More Read Less

I took this for a month and am stopping it because I had spotting the entire month, severe headaches and no sex drive. Also have started experiencing deep vein thrombosis - all these are side effects of this pill. Does not work for me.

I have been on Gianvi since YAZ had that big reacall a while back. (approx 2 years)I loved YAZ but was switched to this, the first 8-12 months worked great, however, I believe my body "got used" to the pill and it wasnt as effective over time. Into the 2nd year I was having breakthrough bleeding, spotting, and bizarre mood swings that would make me cry at the drop of a hat. I have been on atleast 5-6 different pills over the last 10 years including the patch, the shot etc. Switching yet again!

This pill has been terrible for me, i've been on it for over 6 months and i HATE it. I've been having terrible headaches and crazy mood swings. I start crying over absolutely nothing and haven't felt like myself in forever. The only benefit has been the shorter periods, but even that doesn't make this pill worth taking.

I have been on Gianvi for 4 months now and I have no complaints. I have PCOS and it has defiantly helped me a lot. I also use this as a OCP and It works the way its supposed to. I occasionally get the mood swings but its right before I get my menstrual. I was 125 2 1/2 years ago and than I gained almost 35 pounds due to PCOS. When the doctor finally stated that I had this I was put on Metformin and Gianvi I have lost 10 pounds since than and yea I wish it was more but slowly I'll get back my normal body. Hope this helped!Read More Read Less

Worst pill ever! Starting with mood changes, I cry for no reason at all times even if watching a cooking show. I can't stop eating which has def made me gain weight. I already had a big cup size and since taking the pill it has definitely increased tremendously. I have the worst cramps ever and I feel like a teenager during my cycle because it has increased as well. Don't use this pill at all....if anything take yaz

I don't really mind Gianvi, except for the price now. $50 is way too much. Other than that, it's has lightened my acne. Not fully gotten rid of it, but getting there. A little weight gain, but 125 isnt bad. Also, increased cup size, which is nothing to complain about. Also the fact that my period is light, and only last a few days is really an upside to this pill. Its not awful. It's alright.

Although I was terrified of trying this birth control pills due to the many negative reviews, I have taken the pill for 5 months now and I do like it a lot. I suffered from moderate to severe (depending on the time of month) hormonal and cystic acne, and after about 3-4 packs it cleared up my skin right up. Before it cleared it completely I did tend to get small cysts during the inert pills, however I am on the inert pills of my 5th pack now and my skin is completely clear. Don't become discouraged if your skin hasn't completely cleared by the first or second pack. Mine took until the 3rd or 4th. This pill has relieved my menstrual cramps, helped to regulate my hormones and PMDD, and it is very effective as a birth control. I like pills that force me to bleed if I miss too many consecutive days, because I feel like this helps to ward off sexual activity that could grant me an unwanted pregnancy. With Gianvi, after about two missed pills you receive your period, and I love that during the inert pills you actually get a period & don't just spot. When I was on Loestrin 24 Fe I would go a month or two with no bleeding at all, and I'm one of those people who like to have that reassurance. My insurance usually covered the majority of the cost and I was out of pocket $36 for three months. I thought that was a great deal at only $12 per pack but recently it has become free of charge for me after my insurance coverage switched & completely covered contraception. Don't be discouraged to take this pill because of all the negative reviews. I wanted to call Walgreens and beg them to switch it out for Yaz as soon as I read the reviews but I'm glad I didn't now. I'm on the inert pills of my 5th pack and I intend to be on Gianvi for a while! Hope this helps!Read More Read Less

Great birth control. Cut down on my moodiness, cramps, and shortened my period from 5-7 days to 3-5 days. Had no weight gain or side effects.

I would not recommend this drug to anyone. I was on Yaz for three years and completely happy. Since switching to Gianvi I have started getting horrific cramps like I used to prior to going on birth control and I feel like Sybil. My irritabilty scale is through the roof and simultaneously I can cry at the drop of a dime. It honestly makes you feel like you're going crazy.

I have been on this birth control for two years about. It is absolutely wonderful. I still have some acne but it has overall cleared up. My mood swings have gone down dramatically. PMS is gone. My period use to be a flood and last for a whole week. Now it is only about 3-5 days and is light. I love this birth control.

I was diagnosed with PCOS and my doctor prescribed Gianvi. I had been taking it for 6 months and recently stopped as we were planning for a baby. This pill has been amazing. My periods have become regular, my skin has been feeling great and also I could reduce my weight ever since i started Gianvi. I did not experience any depression or mood swings as such.

I have been taking this about 6 months, and I didnt notice much of a change at first cept some breast tenderness, and I thought I was imagining the growth until I just read other women felt their breasts grow too. I notice my bras dont fit anymore... and thought maybe they would go back down, cause I didnt think your boobs just suddenly grow at age 25.... I am engaged and have gone from having sex at least once a day to not having sex for almost 3 months now. At first I blamed my fiance, but now his issues are resolved and Im still not having sex with him, the other night he tried to give me tongue kisses and I was really uncomfortable and cant even respond to him sexually, I feel like Im back at age ten where I thought boys were icky. I just barely realized this pill must be the root of alot of problems Ive been having. I kind of expect everything to get better once I stop taking it, heres crossing my fingers ladies.Read More Read Less

I have taken Gianvi for 2 months and I'm switching immediately. I have had an increased appetite with major cravings which has led to weight gain, mood changes and extreme fatigue. The only pro to this pill is increased cup size but it isn't worth it. I would not recommend this pill to anyone.

OMG I switched from Nuvaring to this and let me tell you the past 2 weeks I have been on this pill has been hell. I am so exhausted I literally can't function. I am having heart palpitations and my asthma is flaring up. The whole reason I switched was because I had this horrid sneaky weight gain on the ring that wouldn't come off regardless of diet and exercise. I am scared to drive to work each day because I am so out of it and stupid because my brain doesn't want to work on this drug that I am scared I am going to kill someone. Read More Read Less

This birth control ended up being free under my insurance so I figured to give it a shot. I absolutely abhor this product. If I could give it a 0, I would! I'm a happy person in general, this BC made me moody and angry almost all day long. I also am very active, I do zumba 4 to 5 times a week, with this BC I was very lethargic and would sleep for 12 hours at a time, and then still want a nap throughout the day. This is only my third week on and I am not even going to put myself through the horror of stay on it for 3 months. When this month is up, so is this BC. I wish I would've listened to the reviews on here, but everyone told me "BC reacts differently with everybody"Read More Read Less

I am currently taking Gianvi and this pill has worked wonders! I had really bad cystic acne around my jaw line and was constantly breaking out. After 4 months of use, I have NO acne. My complexion is clear..and I haven't seen clear skin since middle school (I am 23 years old). Needless to say, I am thrilled! I suffered from painful ovarian cysts before and now I no longer get them. My periods used to be very heavy, with vomiting and extreme cramping - to the point where I couldn't walk. On this pill, my periods are light, last 3 days.. I do not have cramping or nausea. I hardly even know I'm on my period! I've lost weight while on this pill and my boobs have gotten bigger. I am very, VERY active and that helps when on this pill. You are likely to get blood clots if you are not active. I get slight headaches, but that is a small price to pay as my moods are better, my periods are without pain..and my face is CLEAR! I highly recommend this.Read More Read Less

I have been on Gianvi for 7 months now, starting my 8th pack. Initially, I experienced nausea for the first 5 days, and tend to experience it very infrequently. My period is now very light lasting about 3 days. No more cramps, extreme bloating, fatigue, etc... Since begining Gianvi I am very emotional, and the slightest things can make me tear up. I noticed that my breasts are slightly smaller; almost a whole cup size (from a D to a C). And I have lost more than 6 pounds since starting the pill, not purposely. It works best taking it the same time every day, because I can notice when I miss a pill or when I take it 6+ hours late. The best part is that I have spent years trying to clear my acne. My face is 95% clear, and pimples are much smaller, no more white-heads, no more pain- it's like a miracle! Many people have asked what my secret is.Read More Read Less
