Was prescribed this during the first semester of college and Experienced Depression, anxiety, couldn't sleep, nauseas headaches and I've always had clear skin and my back chest and face broke out (not severely) but noticeably. I was very moody and did not feel myself at all. Cried all the time. I only stayed on it for about 4 months. Felt like it took 2 months to have it completely out of my syste...

I have been switched to this medication from Levora and it is exactly the same except my new packs DONT come with the reminder stickers. Why is this? I dont start my pack on Sundays and never have and unfortunately have always relied on these stickers. I really wish the company would still provide them.

Great for not getting pregnant but the side effects are bad for me. My depression is starting to come back, a lot of crying, lower sex drive, some times even headache. Though some good thing are I have a very light period and no weight gain, might have even lost some weight. Been on it for 3 months, will see if the symptoms get better.

This medicine was a good fit for me. On it for 4 years and I am older 47. As far as birth control, if you experience break through bleeding, the pill is nit the right dosage fir you. With birth control you may need to switch.

I started taking this for my ovarian cysts and painful periods, and it has worked wonders for me! Periods have gotten lighter and barely any pain or bloating during my cycle. No acne, or weight gain. I've actually had weightloss!

Took this for over 2 years. Helped alleviate my PMS & cramps. The problem is when I would be stressed out with school and work i would spot bleed. Every month it was like I’m periododically spotting due to stress in my life. My breasts get tender before my period too. Overall it worked well for me.

I've taken this drug for a month now and I love it. I had an abortion before I starred this drug and this lessened my bleeding. My skin is fine, it never was unclear. My weight is actually going down but I'm open to that changing later. No vomiting, headaches, random nausea, or mood swings. My sex drive has been the same, through the roof. Only thing that I've noticed is my sensitivity to salty foods. I've always gotten sodium headaches if I've eaten to much salt through out the day but now it's a bit more sensitive to alot of chips, too much gravy, and popeyes chicken. Either than that... I LOVE IT! Read More Read Less

I have been bleeding almost everyday since I began taking this pill almost 7 weeks Ago. My gynecologist says I must take 3 months before they can determine the next step. This has been the worst birth control pills I have ever taken. The longest I have been without bleeding is a day and a half. I am seriously disgusted with these pills. I am considering discontinuing using them until my three months is up.

Took it for 3 1/2 weeks. In that time, I gained 10 pounds and was extremely bloated. I am a fitness trainer and I did not change my workout routine. The few days after I stopped, I lost 4 pounds. I also was going to try to skip periods with it (I started taking it to reduce cysts), and I had daily break through bleeding starting day 27 of my cycle like I normally would have gotten my period (I took it at the same time every day within 1 hour). Hoping the other 6 pounds come back off quickly. Not worth it at all - quite disappointed my doc would prescribe this one, seeing that all of the reviews I am reading on here stay the same thing (I asked her for the 84 day, but the pharmacy filled it with this). I marked effective because I cannot say that it wasn't, but wasn't really on it for the extended period needed to tell if I was going to be safe from no-ruptured cysts while on it. I have only been on this medication for 3 months, and whenever I take the white pills, I am a complete emotional wreck and have zero control of my emotions. This has never happened to me before. I also have awful acne due to this medication. Not very pleased with this at all and will be switching to something different.

TERRIBLE! I've been bleeding for over 3 weeks. Gained weight, have acne, massive headache; mind you this is only the first pack! HATE IT. Say this is the generic brand for Levora but this is the WORSE EVER

The two biggest problems I experienced with a weight gain of about 30lbs. and I a week before my period my moods were a bit unstable. Usually I don't get very moody with my period until I starting taking this pill. Another than that it gets the job done. Trying find a new pill. But everyone is different.

I was on altavera for almost 2 years. I gained 30 pounds (while exercising 4-5x each week and eating healthy). I started to have major anxiety, my once normal blood pressure was in the 160s, and the week before my period I was psychotic. I truly felt like I was out of my body but with no control. I couldn't live like that! Now I am on nuvaring. So far so good. I would never go on altavera again!

This birth control has a high dosage of Etonogestrel which made me feel like a crazy person the week before my cycle. Emotional, psychotic, and could have been the end of my marriage. I am now on the Nuvaring and doing SO much better. While I did not get pregnant using this medication, it just did not work for me.

I was not at all pleased with this birth control at all, it's done a great job with not getting me pregnant, but I have had a horrible increase in appetite causing me to gain weight, and I have been extremely emotional, depressed, and anxious. Which I have never been that type of person. I was always 120lbs, happy, & never anxious! This pill has been the worst experience for me! If any of you feel like your gaining weight, or feel your not being your normal self I would advise you to get off of it immediately. Read More Read Less

I've been taking this pill for about a year..and I'm not all that thrilled about it anymore. Even though it lessen the flow, the moment I had sex during my period...the flow went back to it's heavy cycle. Not only that... I gained weight when I had no change in my diet at all, I became very emotional when I've never been like that before, and my breasts have enlarged and began hurting on the sides and undersides. Is this normal? Not sure what to say else about this pill. It's great for stomach cramps and stopping the vomiting and acne, but not that great when it comes to other things hormonal related.Read More Read Less

I only took this birth control for one month and stopped ASAP because it gave my whole body festering painful acne. The same thing happens when I take antibiotics, so I wonder if it was an allergic reaction. Anyhow, I'm never taking it again.

I have been taking Altavera for a year now and I am very pleased with this medication! Periods are only 3 days long and always on time, light and no cramping at all! No mood swings or attitude changes during cycle. No acne or weight gain, I'm still able to workout and run everyday with no cramps or problems! This medicine is great and highly recommended for teens or young adults!

I am a healthy, active 25 year old who has never smoked. I was put on Altavera approximately 7 months ago. Last week I experienced intense pain in my calf. I went to immediate care and the doctor told me it was most likely a pulled muscle. However, the doctor ordered an ultrasound to be on the safe side. I have a blood clot in my leg from Altavera. I am on blood thinners. I am lucky it was caught so early. Altavera was my only risk-factor of developing the blood clot. I am now off Altavera and am thankful that this drug did not do even more harm. Don't take it!!!!Read More Read Less
