This was prescribed for off-label use to help with night sweats. It has been an answered prayer for me. Night sweats have stopped. I can sleep through the night. Label said take at 5pm but I was very groggy the next day. So, I take it at 3pm & this works for me. Previously, night sweats made it impossible to sleep for any length of time -- waking up every 1-2 hours.

I have a pinch between 4 and 5. During the day my right arm was ok. At night when i was trying to sleep, I would wake up screaming in pain down the right arm more than once a night. I finally went to a neurologist who prescribed this medication. I take it about an hour before bed time. It worked the very first night. To be able to sleep with no pain and not waking up screaming and crying in pain was a wonderful feeling. Spinal surgeon visit, I may need surgery in the future. If this medication still works, he is ok with that. If I start to have pain, it will be revisited to either raise the dosage or surgery. Read More Read Less

This has boosted my pain medication effectiveness. I have taken it for 4 months without side effects, taking care to ingest with food. Before pain meds did not control the pain very well.

I started using this for burning neuropathy in my feet which I think may be due to Mortons Neuroma or Plantar Fascia issues. After a couple of hours on my feet I literally couldn't walk. Horizant was a miracle. My doctor just doubled my dose to bid in an effort to help with my migraines. Will see how that goes. My only complaint is a small one. Why does it smell so bad when you first open the bottle. Pill does not have a bad taste but that first whiff is pretty bad. Very grateful for the program that allows me to get my medicine cheaper. I had been taking regular gabapentin in the past for nerve pain. It wasn't really helping. I went to the neurologist for help with restless Leg Syndrome. He prescribed me Horizant and I was hesitant taking it when I read it was a form of Gabapentin. But, I gave it a try. Thank God! I finally had a good night sleep without waking drowzy. I would spend days having maybe 3 hours of sleep because of my condition. It's been a month now and so far so good. The downside is that my Medicare Plus copay for this is $130 for 90 60mg capsules. Here I am use to paying $10 copays and was horrified with the news I had to pay the amount mentioned. I will ask my Dr in my next visit if I could substitute this for a higher dose of gabapentin instead. I'll find out soon. Read More Read Less

Amazing drug to treat RLS ! I have had RLS since I was a young child and the older I got, the worse it got to the point I consulted with every neurologist locally and finally was told about Horizant and asked if I wanted to try it, good. By RLS.

Taking this medication around 5 o’clock in the evening makes it easier to wake up the next morning without feeling groggy. Most of the pain has dissipated. I’ve only been on it a week.

ends up I have RLS-restless legs syndrome and didn't know it after years of this painful tingling in my legs especially when sitting still or lying down to sleep. My doctors misdiagnosed as arthritis due to leg injury but a NP gave me a questionnaire and it matched my symptoms for RLS and prescribed Horizant 1 pill at dinnertime works great!

I have read other reviews of being in a "stupor or no relief of pain" but as taking this medication it was me not taking it correctly as prescribed which is to be at 5PM with food not before bedtime! My RLS pain is now controlled glad I followed the PI.

I just can't believe it has taken so long to treat my RLS symptoms and now with Horizant it is just 1 tablet at dinner and I feel so much better. I look forward to a good night's sleep without the urge to move constantly.

RLS was diagnosed years ago and finally I have Horizant which works so well that I get a good nights rest without feeling groggy the next day and it's only 1 pill instead of continual dosing of gabapentin. I am so happy!!!

Taking it for stroke pain. It provides no relief. The pill is large and tends to stick on the way down.

Yes, this drug controlled my RLS and I slept well. I gave it 1 star for Ease of Use and Satisfaction because when I got up in the morning I was unsteady, nauseous, unable to focus visually, groggy and eventually went back to bed for a hour. When I got up I felt no better. I could not function. In a few hours the effects began to decrease but it was 19 hours after taking the drug that I felt it was finally out of my system. NEVER AGAIN! Something that feels that bad can't be good. Mirapex affected me similarily but not as bad. I've had RLS since childhood but it's much worse now. The hot tub gives me temporary relief and I take clonazapam about 3-4 times a week. I won't take something addictive every night because I don't want more problems than I already have with RLS. So the rest of the time I soak in the hot tub and prowl around during the night.Read More Read Less

The urge to move my legs has went away and I'm able to sleep overnight without interruption. Before I began taking Horizant I always wanted to move my legs when I sat at my desk at work or when I sat on the couch at my home. Insurance pays for it now so that's nice cause now I can stop taking Requip.

Got a sample bottle from my Doctor, and what a relief. A little dizzy in the morning if taken after 5pm, but what a good night sleep. The Requip was doing a good job, but this is a lot better. I have had RLS for 8 years and to get a sound night sleep is a blessing. Going to my doctors office early this morning for a Rx to continue taking this medication.

I've been taking Horizant for RLS for 6 months. I had been on Requip XL for 2-3 years but it no longer worked due to augmentation. The transition was hideous; my doctor prescribed an opioid to help but it was extremely constipating. I was doing well until two months ago when RLS worsened. My doc suggested doubling the dose of Horizant and adding the smallest dose of Mirapex. Within 2-3 weeks I was getting augmentation from the Mirapex so I stopped that but continued the double dose of Horizant. I have now nearly run out and am taking only the single dose and supplementing with OTC GABA from the nutrition store as needed, which is bedtime and whenever I wake up (2-3 times per night). The pharmacy tells me the availability date has been pushed back a month to July 1, 2013.Read More Read Less
