I started taking this pill in the beginning of March and my period lasted for 13 days! But after my body got used to it, my period now lasts 3 days. My acne is become more controlled. It was once kind of bad now it's a lot better. I've gained about 20 lbs since I've been taking it. My mood in the beginning was horrible. I was so depressed and moody. Everyone noticed a change in me. But after my bo...

I've been on gianvi for six months and when I got my script from walgreens this month (2 weeks ago) they have me vestura. ... since taking it I've kept these crazy breakouts and I've never ever had acne like my entire life. .I just talked to Wal-Mart pharmacy abd they said they both have same active ingredient but it may be the in active ingredient causing this. . It's embarrassing and they should...

Well... i originally took this for my acne. After 4 months of use, I began having symptoms of not being able to breath, loss of drive, and completely unable to do my normal things. One day i woke up and my leg was three times bigger than my right. i went to the ER and found out i had BLOOD CLOTS in my leg, lungs, and almost to my heart. I was in the hospital for a total of FIVE weeks. I was in a coma for 3, life support for 8 days, and paralyzed vocal cords. All because i was taking Vestura. This drug has COMPLETELY ruined my life. I lost my ability to walk from laying in a hospital bed for 5 weeks. Our hospital bills were almost $1,000,000. I would NEVER recommend. Read More Read Less

Although this birth control does its job (prevents pregnancies), it's the worst experience I've had with the pill. Walgreens switched me to Vestura earlier this year, and immediately thereafter I had UTI like symptoms and a ton of discharge for a few months. While those conditions cleared up within a few months, it COMPLETELY killed my libido. Not to mention I was much moodier and quick to snap at my fiancé regularly. All of this was extremely out of character for me, so I switched to Yaz this week and can already feel a huge difference. If you can afford to, avoid Vestura and stick to the name brand (or just find another generic that works for you).Read More Read Less

So, I read reviews for this med before starting exactly 1 week ago. I took Yaz years ago and LOVED it! I'm taking this primarily to help with my mood/ hormonal imbalance (self-diagnosis) bc I believe Yaz helped with that before. I saw reviews for this medicine which made me skeptical and I generally don't leave product reviews online, but I wanted to weigh in bc these reviews help. I'm almost 35 years old- have only been taking for a week and I have noticed a breakout on my face! I've also felt nausea- like a couple hours after taking. I take it at the same time every day- during my lunch break. I can't really tell if the meds is helping with my moods or not yet. Sometimes I think it does, but it could be the placebo effect. My plan is to try this for a 3-month cycle to see how my body reacts. After this, I'll either continue with this or go back to Depo-Provera. Meanwhile, I've also heard that the Plexus probiotic VitalBlome is getting good reviews for really helping with moods. I'm ordering that next week.Read More Read Less

so I just started vestura recommended by my dermatologist. I started on the first day of my period and am starting my second week now. so far, it hasn't been too bad. Some headaches and nauseousness, but nothing too unusual. Im still lightly bleeding//spotting though so we'll see. my skin is very clear, but it usually is around now

Extremely drastic mood swings. Have taken for months hoping it would get better but has not. Switching pills now. Don't take this drug, it doesn't get better with time.

I've been on vestura for 5 years. Overall I'm very happy. I have extremely light periods that last only about 3 days (barely even need a panty liner) but every few months it seems to build up and it will be relatively heavy. No weight gain or loss, no acne, no real side effects to speak of for me. Rarely I'll have cramps but that's usually only when I have a heavier period coming.

Vestura was horrible for me. For 3 months I was on this. Every month I spotted for 2 weeks straight. On que. And then I would have a heavier flow the last 2 days of the pack, so I'm assuming that was my actual period. I got in this to help my acne but it got worse. I broke out a lot around the time I was spotting. It was just awful. I was extremely bitchy at everyone. I'm trying Trinessa now, and if I don't like it then I'm done with birth control.

Effective as a birth control, and haven't gained any weight. I actually lost weight but my skin has been awful on it. I swear a new zit pops up every day, and then 1 big break out each week. Never had this much acne before but I don't wanna go through the process of switching birth control again and dealing with side effects.

i started taking in july of 2016 YAZ for my acne and long and HEAVY periods, and it didn't fully start working until December of 2016. this was also partially my fault because i didn't take it at the same time each day! i now take it around 7 or 8 each morning and i love YAZ. i have to say for acne, it gets WORSE before it gets better! my skin is so clear now and my periods went from being 12-16 days long to only 5-6. i did experience some weight gain which is why i switched from taking the pill at night to in the morning. I do sometimes forget to take the pill which is not good, but i am mainly using the pill for my skin and periods. i hope this helps anyone doubting yaz! Read More Read Less

I'm 23, it cleared up my acne and my periods were light and I even lost weight when I only weighed 120 lbs to begin with. I have been on this about 6 months or longer and those are the positive side effects... The negative side effects are HORRIBLE...very low libido and dry up quickly during sex, suicidal thoughts, crying at least twice a week, extremely depressed and anxious and very easily agitated and snappy attitude towards others for no reason. My doctor actually put me on celexa to help with the depression/anxiety but this BC pill is so strong that the depression medicine doesn't even work for me (and its the second one I tried). I have anxiety but have never been depressed and have no reason to be sad all the time so I know it has to be my hormones from this birth control.Read More Read Less

I absolutely DO NOT recommend this medication. My pharmacist changed me to it and I've had nothing but issues. I found that it caused a lot of spotting which has never happened to me before, and bleeding between periods. It kept my skin clear but the bleeding/spotting has been such a pain.

I have been on Vestura for 3 months now and I have no negative symptoms it has worked just fine for me and almost immediately it cleared my skin and my skin is very smooth. I only had mild cramps when I started the pills but It went away. I have not had any adverse effects it has worked very nice for me and I plan on staying on it.

I have both PCOS and Endometriosis. I started this pill to assist with getting my cycles under control and acne. I've been on it a month and half. I'm insanely moody my cycles is still long and heavy. I'm spotting throughout the month. The longer I am on it the worse the depression gets. I literally want to hide in my house. Crying spells are no fun when you are trying to work.

I had horrible acne, irregular periods, and moodiness before taking Vestura. I have just started my third pack and I am feeling like myself again! I feel great! I have not had any pimples in a week. I used to get 4-5 new pimples a day. My last period came on time and was shorter and less intense than previous periods. My moods have improved so much and I am no longer feeling so depressed. I will say that for the first two months, my acne got worse. It was really bad during month two but now my skin is completely clear! So, my advice is to give Vestura at least 3 months if not more to see if it will work for you. I have also heard that some people have gained weight taking this pill but that was not the case for me. My weight has stayed the same. Read More Read Less

I put my 16 year old daughter on vestura about 5 months ago and she lost 5lbs. Has no side effects and it's been amazing for her periods and cramps. She spots for 2-4 days and has no cramps at all. I highly recommend this birth control.

I loved the medication at first.my periods were so light and no breath pain.had break thru bleeding.then the migraines came on and thought I should drink more water.I was suddenly hot all the time. Then when I ate I become dizzy, and felt like I needed to lay day.I became weak and my hair was really falling out. My hands and jaw were hurting so badly, I was going to specialty doctors for it. I was sleeping 13 hours a night.my food stop digesting properly. My doctor called me to tell me my cholesterol was high and it has very high cholesterol even after I adopted a no wheat, no sugar diet. I was so sick I finally took my book sugar in the morning and it was 242 in the morning after an empty stomach.my vision was blurry.and some of the side effects were normal for this medication.finally after the diabetes scare, I looked up the original name of YAZ.although this BC in this generic form does not have the same side effects. I decided to just stop taking it. Within 3 days I was able to eat again and my blood sugar was once again normal. Within 5 days my hand and jaw pain was gone. This medicine could have killed me.it didn't work for me and could have killed me and retained permanent damage. I would say really because with it, as this BC has deadly side effects. If you get any of these effects stop taking the BC and talk to your doctor on different options because you don't want to have permanent damage.Read More Read Less

I'm 24 and I've been on vestura for over a year. I used to have Implanon but switched because it made me break out with cystic acne ( I never had cystic acne before). So, I started vestura and within a few months my skin cleared right up. I don't enjoy taking a pill every day but I put up with it, because there didn't seem to be any side effects for me. THEN, I started noticing some annoying fatigue, and the main problem- it's given me the sex drive of rock. Essentially, vestura killed my libido. As I mentioned at the beginning, I'm 24 so this shouldn't be an issue, and it never was before vestura. Also, there are no extenuating circumstances in my life that account for this undesirable side effect. I've been in a great satisfying relationship for over three years, and I'm not stressed. Anyways, my gynecologist confirmed this is a common issue, because the estrogen in vestura and pills alike can significantly reduce your testosterone (women need testosterone too). In conclusion, she recommended I use mirena since it has no estrogen and the hormones it does have are mostly localized to your uterus, so less goes into your bloodstream. This pill might work for others, but it didn't work for me. Why use birth control for pregnancy prevention if it causes you to not even want to have sex at all?Read More Read Less

I have been on this pill for about 2 or 3 months now. While it did make my periods much more regular and easier to manage, the side effects of this drug have driven me crazy. I had extreme changes in mood for about the first 3 weeks, and I have gained 20 pounds since starting this medication. I also struggle with acne and this pill did not help me much. If you can deal with the side effects, it's worth looking into.

So i switched from Trinessa to Vestura and was expecting to be throwing up as I read in everyone else's comments but surprisingly, its day 4 and I haven't been nauseous or anything. Trinessa made me feel so tired all the time and never wanting to do anything (finally after almost a year of have a very low libido, always being moody, and my periods getting heavier and heavier by the month I decided to go to the my doctor and switch) but Vestura has made me feel (for the pat 4 days at least) more energized and in an overall better mood. I haven't had a period yet but as soon as I do i will come back and post another review to try to help some people out. IT TRUELY DEPENDS ON YOUR BODY ON WHAT YOUR SYMPTOMS ARE!! Read More Read Less
