I started taking this pill in the beginning of March and my period lasted for 13 days! But after my body got used to it, my period now lasts 3 days. My acne is become more controlled. It was once kind of bad now it's a lot better. I've gained about 20 lbs since I've been taking it. My mood in the beginning was horrible. I was so depressed and moody. Everyone noticed a change in me. But after my bo...

I've been on gianvi for six months and when I got my script from walgreens this month (2 weeks ago) they have me vestura. ... since taking it I've kept these crazy breakouts and I've never ever had acne like my entire life. .I just talked to Wal-Mart pharmacy abd they said they both have same active ingredient but it may be the in active ingredient causing this. . It's embarrassing and they should...

I have been on yaz for about 6 years and in the last year and a half have been on various generic versions of yaz for a few months here and there. The first time I took vestura I got terrible headaches (had run out of yaz and needed to fill a prescription out of state). For some reason this time around (after being on yaz for three months in between) it's been great. I noticed two things: no headaches (which had become constant for me) and improved digestion. Not sure if digestion is really linked to the pill, but it corresponds to when I started using vestura a few weeks ago. I'll see how it goes, but I am happy the beginning of the cycle didn't kick off with terrible headaches.Read More Read Less

I was on Loestrin Fe and got so sick from about 15 minutes after taking it till the next morning when I woke up. It was awful, I couldn't take it beyond 3 days. But I've been on the generic form of BeYaz which is Vestura. I am very happy with it, no side effects at all. I even noticed my libido was up, not an issue but funny because I'd read the opposite on many reviews. I would absolutely recommend it.

After taking Yaz for many years, I started taking the generic Gianvi. Didn't notice a difference at all. Walgreen's stopped selling Gianvi, so I've been on Vestura for the past 3 months. I've had insane migraine headaches during my period (previously, had never had a migraine before). I've also been depressed/down feeling for no reason. This month, I have switched to Sam's Club Pharmacy for insurance reasons & fortunately, they still sell Gianvi. I'm very excited to be back on it & see if my symptoms go away.Read More Read Less

Giannvi is a much better generic version of yaz. I immediately broke out, was moody, and started experiencing PMS symptoms, which I never had on giannvi or seasonable.

My pharmacy switched me from Gianvi to this awful pill. Within days of starting, I broke out in acne on my face and chest. I also noticed a diminished sex drive which is really frustrating. I have not noticed any severe weight gain, however it is also after the holidays so a slight weight gain might be attributed to that. I definitely noticed mood swings--even bursting into tears from a photo, getting paranoid, and irrationally angry. I still don't understand why my pharmacy switched me away from Gianvi to Vestura, but I am definitely finishing this month's pack and never going back. Also the packing on this pill sucks. It's bulky, plastic, ugly and a pain to open. I've scratched my fingers and broken nails just from trying to open the pack. No thank you. Good bye, Vestura.Read More Read Less

I have been on Vestura for three months now and just started pack 4 one week ago. I wasn't on Gianvi before this, I simply just started with this pill. During the first two months I felt uncontrollably upset for no reason at times and would get a lot of cystic break outs. I later discovered that eating dairy with Vestura has been the cause of these breakouts and they have decreased significantly and are more controllable. Also if I eat after the pill I am less emotional. If you are willing to just let your body adjust and be patient can be effective, but everyone is different. I like this birth control because I have had experiences with others where I gained a lot of weight or felt nauseous and haven't felt any of these symptoms.Read More Read Less

I can't believe what I'm reading - the same thing happened to me as well. I had been taking Gianvi for 6 months and the pharmacy just switched me to Vestura. At the same time, I had just come back from my honeymoon (at a fabulous place)in Mexico. After we came home I was sick for almost 2 weeks with my stomach and I thought maybe it was something I ate - but now I'm thinking it's this pill! I just started a new pack last week and I'm back to not feeling well again. I also feel depressed, anxious and unmotivated and this is NOT like me. I thought it was just me but after reading the rest of the reviews, I'm thinking it's definitely this pill! Read More Read Less

I like the others was switched from Giavani to Vestura. I've been having anxiety which I've never had before feeling depressed and exhausted for no reason. Last week I was physically sick and nauseous so much that I ended up having to leave work for 2 days. I'm a little worried after reading about the bleeding I'm supposed to start in 2 days. I am calling my doctor today to get a different prescription, this stuff needs to be taken off the market!

I, like the others, was switched to vestura by the pharmacist; I had no idea why everything and everyone was upsetting me,and was very depressed too; I have only been on it for one week, that is all I can handle, I am calling my gynecologist tomorrow for a new prescription

After taking Yaz and then Gianvi for almost 4 years, I was recently switched to Vestura and told the medication was "virtually identical." After spending 2 days in the hospital because I lost so much blood (and at a time when I was not supposed to have my period), I can safely say that my reaction to Vestura was not "virtually identical" to my experience with Yaz or Gianvi. The doctors at the hospital told me that heavy bleeding while on Vestura is a "fairly common side effect."

I have never before felt compelled to write a review but taking Vestura was such a horrible experience I think others should be warned. My pharmacy switched me from Yaz to Vestura and I didn't expect to notice any difference; however, Vestura was a nightmare. It was effective in that I didn't get pregnant but very ineffective at regulating my period. I would sporadically have extremely heavy bleeding unlike anything I've ever experienced. I also experienced crippling cramps and my skin broke out uncontrollably. As for ease of use, mine came in a ridiculously large, bright green plastic box and the pills were difficult to remove; it was obnoxious and inconvenient. As soon as I switched back to Yaz, all of these symptoms went away (and, as a bonus, I no longer had to take my pills from that awful green plastic box).Read More Read Less

Started taking this birth control after the discontinuing of gianvi. The first day I took this birth control I got extremely sick. Constant throwing up (blood included), nauseous and real bad chest pain. I stopped the pill for the next two days because I was too sick to hold food down. The third day I was feeling fine and decided to take the pill since I got over what I once thought was food poisoning. Once I took it again I ended up back in the same position weak, nauseous and throwing up blood included. Had to nurse myself back to feel better once again and since not taking it I have been feeling 10 times better. This birth control should be removed from the market it is corrupt and makes you feel like crap. PS. Each time I take birth control I put something on my stomach to protect myself from the nauseous feeling. After going to the emergency room it was determined that this pill is bad! I am still on it, and trying to figure out if I should stay on it or give up on it. It seems to helping my mood and anxiety, but I am having other issues and I am not sure if it is the b/c or my bowels. the first month on it went great, the second month has been rough, I started getting extreme bloating a few weeks ago but I have ibs and sibo, so I can't tell if its that or the b/c. Anyway, on Friday I hit the period pill for the second month and I was at work and got horrible cramps and passed out. I ended up going to urgent care because I was also backed up. They felt it was bowel related and said I was really backed up and needed to empty out my bowels. I spent last night trying to do that, and then ate some today and I bloated right back up, I have my period and have cramps. I am just scared that it may be the b/c causing all these issues and I am afraid that every month is going to consist of horrible painful periods and I really can't take this bloated, heavy pressure feeling in my lower abdomen anymore, but don't want to stop the pill because it is helping my mood and I can't go back to the way I was. Can anyone help please. P.s I was on yaz in the past and it was the only b/c that worked for me, I had to go off of it because of insurance and I can't remember if I went through any of this before when I first started it. I have been taking Yaz/Gianvi for about three years now, (not as a contraceptive but to treat my "dysmenorrhea" which is the medical term for severely painful menstrual cramps). For whatever reason the pharmacy switched me to Vestura last month and assured me that it was another generic for Yaz just like Gianvi. IT IS NOTHING LIKE GIANVI. The week I was on Vestura was the WORST WEEK OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. My menstrual cramps were stronger than usual, my flow was heavier but more importantly I felt so depressed to the point that I actually cried myself sick. I was so irritable, everyone and everything was pissing me off. I had absolutely no energy, motivation or interest in anything. I take Adderall on an as needed basis but even on the maximum permitted dose it was completely ineffective which I had never experienced before. I strongly do not recommend taking this pill - especially if you are on, and happy with Yaz or Gianvi. Read More Read Less

I just got switched to Vestura bc a month ago. I was using Gianvi, have no idea why the pharmacy switched it but I very much dislike Vestura. I had a horrible week when I was on my period...anxiety, mood swings, depression. I feel lathargic and probably gained some weight. I just finished the pack and I'm never taking it again. Going back to my doctor and getting a new prescription.
