My atrophy was so bad that I couldn't sit comfortably. Premarin cream did nothing. Osphena is a miracle for me. But Medicare won't cover it! It's made for Senior women so it's foolish that Medicare doesn't cover it. Medicare covers Viagra! Are Senior men supposed to have sex with 30 year old women?

I chose a new GYN Dr. due to the fact that I felt I was not getting the help I was asking for based on extremely painful intercourse. My new Dr. put me on Osphena, and after being on it for 10 days, I realized that I was having extreme anxiety, but I did not relate it to this medication. I suffer from severe depression, and I just thought it had been a really tough year in ALL aspects of my life. ...

I have been on Osphena for about six weeks. At first I had some leg cramps but they went away. I am more than pleased with this medication. Not only has the moisture returned but a lot more desire as well. My husband is very happy. I find myself thinking about sex at odd times during the day. I know this wasn't supposed to affect your libido but for me it sure seems to.

this has definitely helped with the treatment of painful intercourse, which was a very severe problem for me, and nobody ever seemed to talk about this at all. Using estrogen cream was not helpful enough for me. This works better, but it does cause yeast infections, which are getting to be a problem. Not enough of a problem for me to stop taking it (yet) though. Also my urinary frequency problem is a LOT better now that I'm taking it; I don't have to get up at night to go pee, and that's a huge improvement from before I was taking it.Read More Read Less

I have REALLY had increase of night sweats and slight shortness of breath. After taking 6 weeks, I don't think the magic pill is worth the risks and side effects.

Only now, I just got released from the hospital after trying to commit suicide in which I do now believe was in direct relation to this medication. I will continue to do research on this medication, but it is NOT worth my life, or the night sweats, and panic/anxiety attacks. please be careful with this medication. I had been treated successfully for depression for 6 years before adding this med to my daily regimen. The Doctors and team who literally saved my life suggested that I look into when I started taking this medication, and when my symptoms began. They were right on the money. I started taking it in the first week of Dec. 2013, and found myself becoming more and more helpless in regards to my panic/anxiety attacks. The continued night sweats in which I had not had before this medication. The time frame all added up. So, to sum it up, I had been on Osphena since the first week of Dec. and tried to take my life by the end of January, 2014. Woke up in the ER on Feb. 1st hanging in a balance for my life.Read More Read Less

6 years postmenopausal. Perineal rash, excoriation not relieved with ANY topical cream/ointment x 1 year (1 year post gastric bypass with 65lb weight loss). Moderate painful sex which felt like kneeling on ground glass (never an issue before when on premarin) not helped with Estring (estrogen ring) nor estrogen vaginal cream (husband developed increased breast tissue). After 2.5 weeks-noted improved vaginal secretions. After 6 weeks-noted increased desire, way less discomfort during intercourse!!! Negative side effect-increased hot flashes but easy to put up with compared to excoriated perineal tissue and painful sex. Another complaint is the pills are extremely hard to push out of cardboard packaging for slightly arthritic fingers...Read More Read Less

WARNING! This is a SERM, which is just like ESTROGEN, with all the same RISKS. False advertising to call it "non-estrogen.

I have taken this med for 5 days. I'm 55, healthy, play sports, and don't take any other meds. I had SEVERE leg cramps in the front of my calves and ankles approximately 5 mins ago. I had an good workout earlier today, but have not experienced cramping like this before--it was painful.

I had to mark this dissatisfied because I started spotting. It worked great for what it was meant to do, but once I had passed a small clot, I went off it. Five days later I'm experiencing terrible cramps and more bleeding. I'm scared.

I tried the creams...too cumbersome to use. This was recommended by my doctors. I has helped ALOT. Yes, I have hot flashes, but I did anyway. No other reactions and I am quite satisfied with the result.

Full blown menopause age 38. married 4 yrs at start, by yr 7, marriage crumbled. dr would not give hrt; only this. did not improve any vaginal pain at all. increased migraines (every day without relief) stopped after 2nd week. atrophic vagina & vaginal pain from fungal origin; this med is not an antifungal. it acts on estrogen receptors, but is NOT sufficient to treat hormonal disruption. Rather, causes it. ALL DOCTORS PRESCRIBING THIS MED should be educated and tested on how it affects the body. FDA should quit approving chemicals that trash women's bodies. Now seeing another doctor specializing in hormone imbalance. Have to be off this med for 6 months to test hormone levels. great, another 6 months of hell. I'll be lucky if I'm still alive by thenRead More Read Less

Used for extreme problem with atrophic vaginitis. It seemed to help with burning and pain of atrophic vaginitis. But: Experienced anxiety on day 3. On Day 8, got extreme itching and white cottage cheese discharge. I understand yeast infection possible side effect. Stopped it and itching has stopped.

Hot flashes are worse than when I was active in menopause. Extremely depressed. Wondering if it's acting with some of my other meds. I should be HAPPY!

Had hot flashes-which I never had before using this medication-frequently along with sweating and flushing of the face. It may be easier to use than PREMARIN cream but I can't stand the sweating and constant hot flashes!
