I have been on Belviq for five weeks and have lost 11 lbs. I am taking 2 pills a day. Side effects at first were sleepiness, feeling cold all the time and some muscle weakness. Now I just have dry mouth and i have a hard time getting started in the morning which is unusual for me. I just had bloodwork done and cholosterol is finally in normal range and all other results were excellent. All cravin...

I've tried several different weight loss medications. My doctor recommended this because she thought it would be a good fit. Described it as appetite suppressant. Didn't do a thing!!! Did the 15 day trial then paid over $150 including the $75 off coupon. I'm going back to Phentermine. Belviq is worthless. Don't waste your money on this or Qysimia. It's also worthless and extremely expensive. And n...

I Have just started Belviq so not sure what's the results will be. I would like to let anyone who has a prescription for Belviq...when you go to the pharmacy,do not use your insurance card and the medicine will only $75.00 if you use the coupon. I was almost charge 262.00 and I told the pharmacy to take off my insurance card and my total was $75.00.

I started taking belviq 4 weeks ago I am currently down 22 pounds. I also watch my carbohydrate intake. I recently turned 51 and have tried every weight loss product there is.. Finally something that works and I had no side effects. If you want to truly try and loose weight this is the path to take.

I just started taking this about a week ago and I can't stand feeling depressed and dizzy. I'm usually a happy person but this takes my joy away.I only want to lose 25-30 lbs,but I don't feel this is the right medication for me.I use to take Adipex and it really works a lot better, and it makes you feel good, have energy, and is a lot cheaper. My blood work is always good along with my blood pressure which has been 118/76. I asked my doctor for Adipex, but she would not give me a prescription for it. Adipex is a "REAL" appetite suppressant, not like this so called expensive "crap"! This must be all about money, and I think if your body can handle a better appetite suppressant(Adipex) you should be able to get it. I guess I'll go to another state for something much better, I don't like feeling bad, and it doesn't even work, I'm more hungry taking this sh_t!!!Read More Read Less

I started with 10mg 2x/day and I have been on Belviq for a week. I have not noticed a difference in my appetite. Still want junk, still hungry all the time. Plus I am so tired that I could fall asleep anywhere, anytime. My body hurts and I have headaches. I feel foggy/disoriented, forgetful (which is normal for me anyway), dizzy when standing quickly. The most noticeable symptom is the tiredness. I have to drag myself out of bed, feel like I could sleep 12 hours and still welcome more sleep. With the cost of this, not sure that I will continue using it. Read More Read Less

I began taking the 10 mg, 2 times a day and the fatigue made it impossible for me to work. The first three days was like having migraine headaches, but it went away. I then began taking just 1 10 mg in the AM and my weight started at 173 (at docs) at my house 169. I began to lose the second week, I changed nothing. I did not exercise more, did not eat different, maybe less. Late evenings were my demons for food as I guess the AM pill had worn off. I had vivid dreams every night. I lost to 154, lowest within 8 months, but...I started gaining. I stopped the medication after a full 18 months taking it... had severe panic attacks for about a week, and within 2 weeks I have gained back to 166 and I am 5'2" and 58. Thats my story, and I'm sticking to it. Read More Read Less

This is a follow up from my starting review of Oct 2015. Please be aware that removing from this drug has a lot of withdrawal symptoms. I took myself off after 5 months a week ago because I felt the cost to me has become prohibitive as even with a good RX coupon it is $232 a month , I didn't like the restriction of having to lose the 5% and panicking when it would get close to weigh in and I wasn't quite there in losses, and I had a total hysterectomy, which I always felt was the problem (hormones.) I did lose 40 lbs but not woth what happened when I went off. I have had headaches, sometimes severe for 5 days, racing heart, shakiness and weird dreams and as of this posting they have continued. I found other forums where people had similar results. If I had to do it over, no I would not take this drug.Read More Read Less

I am a male in my 50s. Took Belviq for nearly 1 year. I was at 200 Pounds, I am at 171 now. That's the good news. The bad news is that 2 months ago, I developed the worst abdominal pain in the world. Strong nausea too. 8 visits to my GP and Gastro doctor, Endoscopy, CT Scan, Doppler, Ultrasound, 4 blood tests and a Hydra scan revealed that I am in PERFECT health. Gallbladder was suspected at first but all the tests excluded it. My GP and Gastro finally stated that the serotonin secreted by Belviq are nearly all in the abdomen. I was ordered to STOP taking it at once. 2 weeks with no Belviq. Pain nearly 95% gone and nausea nearly 90% gone. Gastro doc tells me, it will take as much as 6 months to completely get rid of it. This medication cost me and my insurance tens of thousands in costs. I am FINALLY starting to feel human again. Be aware of this. It DID make me lose weight but the side effects were devastating. DEVASTATING. My experience may be different from anyone else. Read More Read Less

LOST 61 pounds in 10 months - and still losing. No side effects. I got full blood work and cardio initially (recommended!). Folks, diet is 90% of weight loss (though if you can, at least WALK some). Two pills a day (my recommendation: 30 minutes prior to meals). You still need to pick healthy choices. If you plateau, have a cheat day to restart. It took me a full month and a few days for this to kick in, then boom! Eat lean foods, watch calories, carbs. Eliminate breads and all sugar (you must)! Drink water. Watch salt! Take vitamins. Trim your diet to a limited subset of items that are low cal and filling and stick to them. Replace with another subset when you burn out. Egg whites and poultry are my staples. Keep snacks and garbage out of house altogether! On the fence? Remember that obesity kills! And when this works, it works. Use "myfitnesspal" app (or similar) and record all foods and weight changes! Always be asking, am I eating for hunger or just because I'm "fungly" (eating for fun). Be patient, and hang in there. If you slip, resume. You can do this. Good luck! Read More Read Less

Went from 270 to 230 in just over a month. So psyched. No side effects at all for me except for some dry mouth. No idea why I waited so long to ask for this. Aetna covers half of cost for me and I used coupon but investment is worth it to me so I'll be staying on it for the year at minimum. I'm motivated now to walk everyday and feel way less self conscious. Best of luck to anyone taking this!

October 8, 2015 I asked my doctor for help in losing some weight; I had achy feet and other lower extremities. I want to exercise but it hurts too. At the time I weighed about 246 pounds and she prescribed be Belviq and said to try it for 3 months, and if I could lose 5% of my body weight then I could continue this. I tried it, the first 3-4 days I had some headaches, but nothing that a couple ibuprophin didn't handle. The first few weeks I really noticed feeling full or not hungry. That feeling sort of subsided, or I got use to it. Then came the month of December, yeh I snacked a little more. At my three month weight in I needed to be down 12 pounds, I was down 18, my doctor was excited about that, especially with doing this through December. Since I have purchased a treadmill, and am using it 3-4 times a week and feel great. I say if your struggling to get started losing some weight and exercising this is great boost. My only downfall is remembering to take the second pill in the evening when I get home from work; really hoping I can get on the one-a-day time released pill when its out.Read More Read Less

I am 20 pounds overweight and have metabolic syndrome, or prediabetes, and my doctor prescribed Belviq to lose those extra pounds. She warned me it was expensive but I figured is was worth the risk. The first day I noticed a huge change in my appetite: to sum it up I was ravenous! I my appetite has always been good, alas, but that first day I was starving all day long. I figured it was just a first day side effect and so went on to days two and three with two pills a day. My appetite stayed extremely high. My energy went way up too. At the gym on the second day I did double of everything and could have gone on exercising for hours! And the appetite grew too. Even though I tried not to eat, I couldn´t not do it. I felt if I didn´t eat I would faint. So I did eat more, and gained a pound. By the third day I figured this huge appetite was my reaction to the medication, not just a beginning reaction. So I stopped taking Belviq. My appetite went down and so did the almost manic energy. Since then I have dieted without help, and over the past two weeks managed to lose the extra weight I put on when on Belviq on my own. I guess my body did not respond to Belviq the way most people´s bodies do. Good luck everyone else on Belviq! Read More Read Less

I started this medicine last month. At first i lost a few pounds. However, the headache was incredibly bad. By Week 2 I was wondering if I should continue. I read some reviews on here and everyone said to keep going until day 14, so I pushed through. By day 14, I had gained 7 pounds and my entire body ached as well as my head still hurting. My mind felt fuzzy and I, overall, felt horrible. I decided to stop taking the medicine. Good luck to everyone taking the pill. It was not for me. :(
