I feel i've been given sugar pils as been on this medication for four weeks and my anxiety is getting worse. I feel no affect whatsoever. Can someone advise me how long it should take before I notice an improvement of my condition?

This medicine is very good for me, but muscle stiffness is unbearable. I already have muscular neuro dystrophy.

Totally useless. Was weaned off sertraline and started on a small dose of vortioxetine, after 3 weeks I can only describe it as being high as a kite...2 weeks later a complete drop. Pych then increased dosage and it didn't help at all..Im more depressed than ever, suicidal thoughts its absolutely draining fighting them...I am so disappointed that I'm still alive when I wake every morning..Don't take this drug..Don't even try it..Now I have to wait 6 weeks to see my pych..Go through hell coming off another antidepressant to try another. I give up..Read More Read Less

Weight gain is not a listed side effect but it most definitely caused weight gain for me. It had a significant effect on my hunger and fullness receptors so I felt like I could eat a huge amount before feeling satisfied. Ended up gaining weight because of this, and Im not someone who usually struggles to maintain their weight. Did not help with my anxiety which was my primary reason for taking it, and the fact that it was making me gain weight actually made it anxiety inducing for me. I actually found Prozac to be more effective in treating anxiety even though at the time I thought it wasn’t doing enough. However I did find that my mood was a lot more stable, It made me a lot happier and I found that I never fell into depressive states like I usually would without medication. Read More Read Less

The WORST antidepressant I've ever been on. Made me very dizzy and caused me horrible constant nausea. My doc even prescribed Zofran to counteract the nausea, but if taking a med causes me to have to take another med, it's just not worth it to me. If you're thinking about taking this drug, PLEASE do your research and you could save yourself a lot of problems. A very helpful user forum for me was the subreddit Trintellix.

I started taking this for anxiety. I would feel anxious in public places. I would also get panic attacks randomly at least once or twice a week. I think it primarily stems from having a horrible boss. He has since been fired, but the damage is done. Since taking this, my panic attacks have all but stopped. I only feel them come on maybe once or twice a month. When I do, I take xanax (1/4 mg) and I feel fine. The biggest thing I have seen with this drug is the ability to function and not feel a sense of panic while in public. It's crazy how much different I feel. I have had little to no side effects from this drug. The only thing I have seen is I am a little bit forgetful. That's sort of a good thing. I have a slight case of ADHD, so when taking this, I focus on stuff more, and am less distracted. I give this drug two thumbs up! Read More Read Less

Provided with 210 days worth of free 1 week samples for 7 mos. vortioxetine proved to be superior over prior generic ssri treatments in curtailing symptoms of my depression. Obtained a 1 yr. Rx script, but found cost prohibitively high to fill. Tapered off & began taking high dose Vitamin D; however, symptoms of MDD with anxiety have returned with no Rx support. My ACA insurer gives no coverage for Brintellix

I've been taking this drug for a week, now, and I have vomited everyday. I realize that 'steady state' is not reached for about two weeks, but the side effects are becoming intolerable. I'm also constipated and can not sleep. Anxiety is worse. Feel lightheaded and dizzy. So, obviously, depressed. This drug has just made my problems much worse, as if I thought they could get worse. I've been prescribed this drug for depression and anxiety. Both, severe. I've tried countless other SSRI/SNRI/TCA's with zero success. I developed these mood disorders after having to deal with a physical health issue that no one could diagnose. My whole life was turned upside down. I'm also taking 150 mg XR Quetiapine and valium. I hope this review can help someone else.Read More Read Less
