I've decided to write a review since there are a lot of neg ones. I'll be honest, when I first took this I didn't have the most pleasant experience and reading some reviews freaked me out. Here's my history -- I was diagnosed with yeast infection last year by my obgyn of which she prescribed a one day oral medicine. It took a few days for it to work, but I don't recall having any side effect...

I wish I had read the comments before purchasing this. What started out as a slight itch turned into a monster after using this product. I used this at about 10pm right before I went to bed. By a little after 12am I woke up to a whitish discharge so a pad is a must but that wasn't all. I was Itching and burning so bad I almost cried. I went to the bathroom and rinse off with water several times an...

I read some of the reviews here & wanted to add my own to help better round out those made thus far, as if you’re seeing this before (or even shortly after) having used the product, you might be freaking out right now reading these… do remember however, that most people who have had a good, or even neutral, experience rarely look for an opportunity to write a review (until I stumbled across this, I didn’t even know medication reviews were a thing on this site). Seriously though, any of my statistics loving people out there, or those with experience in research methodology or studies, understand that this is a very common form of “sampling error” known as a “selection error.” Basically, the observations you are seeing here will definitely not be representative of the entire population. Anyway, I used the ampule yesterday around 3pm (after realizing what was going on and buying anything I could find on Amazon that would make my order cross the minimum dollar threshold needed to be eligible for same day delivery - This is my 1st time having such an infection, & man, is this crap uncomfortable!) & applied the cream immediately thereafter. Being a 1st infection of this sort, I will note as well that I do not have any experience with alternative treatments to compare it to. There was nothing immediate that I noticed. Later in the evening, I did end up with some burning & was (still) itchy (the intense itching was a large part of what clued me in to what was going on in the 1st place, so this was not a change in state from when I used the product). The burning sensation was uncomfortable, yes, but by no means did I find it unbearable - I was still able to fully function and interact normally with my family (though I may have been a bit more cranky and agitated because I did feel hella uncomfortable). I honestly attributed the burning sensation (and the itchiness both) to the infection itself as opposed to the treatment - considering that those are symptoms I seen listed everywhere when researching. I actually only found these reviews when I was attempting to do some research as to how long until I would start to feel better after 1st use (as I thought the 1 day treatment meant it would be fully gone within one day - but I was very much hoping that the discomfort would subside shortly after initial use - I’ve had a few UTIs & found that those would start to feel immensely better very quickly after starting treatment - I realize these are very different things, but my brain wanted to lump them together nonetheless) & was concerned as I had also erroneously assumed that the cream would provide immediate (though temporary) relief of the itching (seriously, they should look into getting some top strength hydrocortisone in there or something…) & it was still insanely itchy… At 1st the reviews scared me a bit and I thought “oh no… is this current burning & discomfort about to get sooo much worse???” But realized that I was reading those 6-7 hrs now after insertion/application & the others who had a much worse experience, the onset all seemed to range between 1-4 hrs, so figured I was mostly in the clear in that regard - and I was correct! I went to bed just after midnight (still feeling uncomfortable) and woke up this morning feeling significantly better. I’m definitely not totally “back to normal” yet (it’s presently 9am, so only 18hrs after initial use), but it’s not nearly as bad as it was yesterday before or after use - so I am super hopeful that it is working very quickly & will happily use the product again (hopefully it won’t be needed again, but if so…). Yeast infections are no joke, man! I’ll definitely use whatever will get rid of them the quickest (even if it is more uncomfortable temporarily) and this does seem to be doing that! But I just wanted to help others who might see these & be freaking out. Some people’s bodies may indeed react to it negatively (pretty sure a few of those I read were actually people having allerRead More Read Less

I first took diflucan for a yeast infection. I noticed a bit of itching two days later and picked up Monistat 1 to clear out any remaining YI. I used the medication at bedtime and went to sleep. I awoke out of my sleep due to burning and itching I have never experienced before. It literally felt like I was on fire and a level of itching that I can only align with chicken pox inside and outside. I rinsed with cold water several times which did not help. The intensity of the sensation brought me to tears. After contemplating an ER visit, I read the reviews and realized this is an experience others have had. The company really should heed feedback and revamp their product. I finally got relief after taking Benadryl and using Buttpaste. The outer cream that came with the Monistat only made it worse. Thank goodness I have kids. Buttpaste is the miracle cream that soothed the burning and itching I felt on the exterior. Avoid this product! I have used other over the counter options and have never had this reaction.Read More Read Less

I keep reading so many negative reviews of this product and it scared me to try it but I did. I get chronic BV and typically use boric acid suppositories to help. This time though, my vulva was itching SO BAD. There was no discharge but i read online that it could have been a yeast infection and the itching kept getting worse so I tried this. I inserted around 9 PM on Friday night and went to bed. I woke up around 12 to pee and when i wiped a lot of it had come out. No burning or itching though. I used the cream that came with it and went to bed. It stopped the itching on the outside. Its been 2 days since and no more itching and i didnt experience any discomfort. I guess i’m one of the lucky few who it didnt affect horribly. I feel great now!Read More Read Less

like everyone else on this thread i did NOT read the reviews and holy lord i cannot express this enough, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. unless you want to experience excruciating burning and pain that i can only describe as literal fire being started on my vulva, DO NOT APPLY THIS PRODUCT. I went out to buy a yeast infection medicine because I had been experiencing mild discomfort and itchiness. After inserting the egg, everything seemed to help and go as planned. 1 hour ON THE DOT later, I am lying on my bed crying and panting because of how intense the pain got. I stood in the shower and tried to wash it off multiple times, it’s been about 5 hours and the pain has subsided but still hurts. I am not using a heating pad to combat the discomfort and continuously trying to wash the product out because of how uncomfortable and hurtful it is. I even almost went to urgent care before looking up the symptoms. I thought I had a UTI! DO NOT BUY, i cannot believe they are legally allowed to sell this.Read More Read Less

I took this medication trying to clear up a yeast infection and the pain was excruciating. I read the reviews and thought this was normal. I woke up 3 hours after taking it and my vulva and vagina had swelled up like a balloon animal and was cherry red. Had to go to the gynecologist anyways and pay a small fortune for flucanzonale and maternity ice packs. Turns out I’m allergic to this product, but from reading other reviews, it looks like the pain would’ve been horrendous even if I wasn’t.

Like so many women I woke up several hours after application with insanely bad itching and burning. Deep vulvar itching so intense I wanted to tear my vagina out. I had to get up at 3.30 and sit in a bath and wash all of it off. I don’t know if it’s the egg or the cream…both seem to be an issue. Now I’ve washed it off it seems a bit better but still burning. This product should not have been approved. No woman should have to go through this.

There was minor discomfort including heightened itching burning sensation for maybe an hour which is very unpleasant. All symptoms went away and was left feeling somewhat numb with some minor tingling. Overall worth a quick fix for an hour of discomfort. I followed the directions and was feeling much better less than 24 hours later.

I picked this up from the store after having used Monistat 3 in the past and being super satisfied with it. (No itching or burning with monistat 3) I figured since monistat 3 worked so well, I would give monistat 1 a try since it would help my problem go away even sooner. I inserted the medicine around 11:30 at night and experienced slight burning. I woke up at 1 am and was in extreme discomfort which only worsened throughout the rest of the night and into the afternoon. I didn’t have any itching or burning prior to inserting the medication, just discharge that was thicker and discolored from how it normally is. My vagina was super red and swollen when I took a look at it in the morning and the pain didn’t ease up til the afternoon. The color and consistency of my discharge went almost completely back to normal later on into the day (around dinner time) which I honestly didn’t think would happen since I had experienced so much pain and discomfort from the medication. It definitely got worse before it got better, but it got better a lot faster than I assumed it would! My vagina was feeling completely back to normal not even a full 24 hours after I originally inserted the medication. No discoloration or clumpiness with discharge anymore. Monistat 1 honestly worked really well, but I wouldn’t purchase it again because of how painful and uncomfortable it was. Definitely going to stick to monistat 3 in the future if another YI arises. ok, like everyone else i didn’t read the reviews before taking this. Yesterday i went to walgreens to pick this up and when i got home i inserted it. I want to say i hate anything inserted. i will go to the doctor for diflucan so i can just take the pill and be in peace. But unfortunately it was sunday and doctors office is closed. so i inserted it and maybe 2 hours later, i thought i was going to DIE! i was itching and burning so bad i thought i was going to pass out. Well it’s the next day and i feel a lot better. i guess i will be able to tell in a few days if the Yeast infection is gone completely. i can say i don’t have any itching or burning now. just a cool sensation. would i do this again absolutely not lol. i’ve seen people say the 3-7 day monistat isn’t as strong , but that makes me itch and burn as well! diflucan from now on! Within 2 minutes of inserting this cream I was in some of the most excruciating burning itching pain I've ever experienced. This was more painful than having my IUD inserted. After 15 minutes of lying in bed crying with clenched fists, literally writhing in pain, I was frantically trying to remove as much of the cream from my vagina as possible. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICATION! I was only able to sleep after taking 1000mg of Tylenol with an ice pack between my legs. Horrific. I will never put this in my body ever again.Read More Read Less

Easy to use, sure. Convenient , no. It’s been eight days since I applied the one day ovule and it’s still not completely out of my body. First of all the symptoms became a lot WORSE than they were initially before the medication. I was much more itchy and irritated after I applied it. Single dose is NOT more convenient, stick to the 3 or 7 day pack. I will never use this again. It’s been so frustrating and uncomfortable.

I’ve used this for years with no problems. Last night however @11pm I inserted it like normal, at 2am I woke up shaking the burning was so incredibly bad! I tried to use toilet paper and I might as well had been using sandpaper… I got in the shower to try and rinse it out and each drop of water felt like lava, I went to bed shaking and in tears forcing my boyfriend to help me rotate ice packs after every 15min till I passed out I woke up with mild discomfort just for 10min later a shooting burning pain ta come back!!! I missed work waddled through Walmart with both tingling and burning sensations.. I bought vagisil anti itch cream! and I am spending the rest of the day sitting on ice packs even if you’ve used this with no problem before DONT USE IT AGAIN!!!! It is not worth the risk Read More Read Less

DO NOT USE IT, it increased my symptoms of itching and burning almost instantly and it is 3:26 in the morning and i just got out of the shower to try and rinse some of it out. My vulva is swollen, my vagina is itching and burning more than before and this product did the exact opposite of what it is supposed to do. DO NOT GET IT!
