Provigil has been WONDERFUL. For the past seven years I have been fighting to find out what is wrong with me. All I wanted to do was sleep, I felt awful. The first doctor called it depression and I tried three different SRIs before taking prozac for 4 years. About 1-1/2 years ago I decided to wean off the prozac. I felt I was missing my life. I wasn't the me I missed. I found another doctor,...

I take Provigil with Wellbutrin. Seems to be a good combo. Before starting Provigil, I had episodes of daytime drowsiness, many times while driving for my job. For me, the drug has been a "miracle drug".

Extreme day tiredness. Use w/ wellbutrin. I can tell when not used for several days but can take the med and go right to sleep. Sleep studies show high amt of stage 4 sleep but not diagnosed as narcoleptic.

I was diagnosed with excessive daytime drowsiness and prescribed Provigil. What a godsend! I once went a few days forgetting to take my pills, I couldn't believe the difference in energy. I really have NO idea how I functioned before I began taking Provigil.

Anti-depressants and sleep apnea. Prescribed for memory impairment, not alzheimers. Drugs caused sleepiness and Provigil returned alertness.

I take 100 mg in the morning and Provigil keeps me awake through my workday. I still sometimes take naps in the afternoons if I have time. It does not keep me awake at night.

I have taken provigil for fatigue due to MS about four years now. It has greatly improved my quality of life. I just found out about the generic form (modafinil), I'm going to try it as the name brand is quite pricey for my budget.

i have had MS since i was 27-i am now 56. within the last 4 years, my symptoms have greatly increased and i had difficulty dealing with fatigue in addition to other symptoms. this drug has made a tremendous difference--i have much more energy and rarely have to nap, enabling me to sleep better at night. with less fatigue, i can cope much more effectively with the other symptoms' it does dramatically decrease my appetite so that i often forget to eat--it helps to have a meal before taking the med. although provigil can't alleviate the actual disease, it has certainly been helpful for me Read More Read Less

I am a computer programmer with MS, and was having trouble concentrating/staying awake at work. Provigil helps me do my work. However, my doctor does not want me to take it everyday.

For years I struggled with what my doctor thought was depression - and I was exhausted, occurring every 2 months or so - I would hardly be able to get out of bed. Once I used Provigil, it went away. I have some sleep apnea (had sleep study done), but the fatigue has gone away during the day, and I don't wake up feeling like I got "hit with a hammer" - and no depression.

This has been used by me for treating low back and cervical pain syndromes, and has markedly diminished the need for analgesics.

I have cfs with severe spine and disc problems. Between pain and exaustion what I normally feel is very extreme. I have just started 100mg of the Provigil and have already felt the difference. I have been alert, able to complete tasks and even got out in my garden. Although I overdid it, I felt great getting outside. I have learned to take it very early in A.M. as the later I take it the longer I am up at night. 8am should be the latest time to take the med. I will make sure I monitor myself with smart breaks, but overall I feel mentally and physically better. This is amazing. If this is something that may not last, I am going to enjoy this time and put it to good use.Read More Read Less

It has been a long time since I have felt this awake. I have so much more energy. It is unreal how much better I feel after only a few days on this medication. I can't sit still I want to do so much. This is a wonderful medication. It has given me hope. After so many years of being tired all the time.

Provigil has dramatically improved my quality of life. I've had MS for the past 5 years, but only started having fatigue problems within the last year. My insurance company caused me trouble a couple months ago because they didn't want to pay the high price for this miracle drug. It resulted in me missing several days of work because I CANNNOT FUNCTION without Provigil.
