I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at age 22. After trying a few drugs with hideous effects that worsened my condition, by doctor recommended this. I have used it now for 4 years and it has saved my life. This drug can be used to treat manic depression, though it is not widely prescribed for the condition. If you are suffering or know someone suffering from this condition, please recommend ...

The drowsiness caused by this medication caused me to get into an accident. This drug should be banned.

I have been on Trileptal before this mediacation and I do think that it has worked but the only problem that I have with it is that I have gained so much weight from being on it. Now I am trying to get rid of the weight and it is very hard. I have been on this medication for about 10 years and 100 pounds extra. I am cosidering having plastic surgery to get of the extra weight.

I was having aura only MS induced epilepsy. I took it for 5+ years. After 3 years muscle problems developed. They hyponatremia which went undiagnosed until much damage done. I want to know if when I wean off of it will I recover any of what I have lost? I am in terrible pain now. Had back surgery not knowing bones were softening and can't lay comfotably at all. I need some good news. I know this only happens to a few so don't give up if it is helping you.

Our Daughter has PDD NOS, many drugs have been tried to contain her behaviors. From Antipsychotics to Xanax, We're really hoping this works. Atypical Antipsychotics just made her worse. Sooooo wish us luck in our quest!!!

I haven't had a seizure episode in over a year but the medicine is very costly. I have to register in college to be able to afford it with my parents insurance.

This is the only drug that works for all my symptoms and works better then anything else i was on. However this is just me and it works for me. That doesn't mean it's for everyone. The only issue is that it knocks me on my butt. It makes it a little harder to get up at 6am for work everyday. if you can deal with that then you should be ok. :)

I have a 17 yr old daughter that has had Grand Mal Seizures since the age of 12. She has been on multiple medicines such as Dilantin,Depakote and Carbitrol she had allergic reactions to all of them. The Dr. put her on Trileptal over 2 yrs ago. It has been wonderful with controlling her seizures. She was taken off of it for 2 months and had 2 seizures within the 2 months. She has been back on the medicine for a yr and has been seizure free for a yr now. She has had no side effects from this drug.Read More Read Less

I had a seizure in 1997 on vacation and when I got home I saw a neurologist about it and he put me on Dilantin and it worked. I have since been seizure-free for 11 years until a new neurologist took me off of it earlier this year because he told me that it was related to bone loss. I was doing well without it for about 2 months and then I had a seizure while trying to watch TV. My doctor put me on Trileptal and so far it's been working but I am having trouble walking. My left leg felt weak. I saw my doctor earlier this morning and told him about it and he told me to get an MRI for my brain to see what's going on. I'm thinking it might be this medicine I'm on.Read More Read Less

I was hit by a drunken semi driver when I was 18.. and I sustained pretty serious injuries from the accident. And then a year and a half later I was walking to my doctor's appointment to get more of my meds and got hit yet again.
