Diagnosed HIV on 7/05/16. Worst day ever. Started taking Genvoya 7/20/16 with a viral load of 31,500. Six weeks later, viral load was already undetectable and CD$ count went from 326 to 343. So far, only side effect was an occasional rash on my forearms or chest. By rash, I mean practically invisible, very tiny skin irritations like a flea bite. My latest update after 3 full years of genvoya. My CD4 started at 326 and is now 706. Minor side effects like loose stool, especially in the mornings. I take the pill at 6:00PM with dinner. Beside that I am very satisfied with this drug. i do plan to switch to a newer 2-medication pill (Genvoya has 4 medications in each pill) as as soon as my insurance covers it, but for now Genvoya is fine and I am grateful for the restoration of my health thus far. I was really feeling the life slowly draining from me before treatment.Read More Read Less

It seems like I can't get any advise on what treatment will work best for me. I was on a very old hiv treatment that was working best for me,for 20 years! the drugs became temporarily unavailable because of distribution problems with the supplier. I then was advised to switch to Genvoya. started having all kinds of bothersome side effects. fat distribution to my mid section dryness to my mouth, wake up literally chocking due to lack of moisture. not able to sleep well.

I really appreciate that it is only one pill to take per day. However, the side effects I have experienced are having a VERY difficult time falling asleep (that's the worst one), loss of appetite, nightmares, feeling fatigued throughout the day, and that's about it. I stopped taking it for a few days and slept like a baby. As soon as I got back on them I couldn't sleep and if I didn't get lucky enough to fall asleep, I would always have nightmares. Other than that, I'm afraid of the long term effects and the damage it could cause to my liver. I wish they would just give us the cure already. Read More Read Less

So far, only side effect was an occasional rash on my forearms or chest. By rash, I mean practically invisible, very tiny skin irritations like a flea bite. Very minor stuff, although could itch a little bit. Those spots have lessened over time, just as my doctor thought they would. No dizziness or nausea at all. One pill per day I take with dinner. My next blood test in March 2017 will tell me more about the effectiveness of Genvoya. Hoping for a strong CD4 count and no noticeable harmful liver effects. Read More Read Less

I am very much satisfied with genvoya. I have been taking my meds since 8/1/2016 with not one side effect, I had a rash on my leg before I started the meds and within a month the rash was gone.
