I wanted to write a review on this after I had finished 3 packs and so I could maybe help someone. And I am glad to say I am very satisfied. Vienva was not my first birth control. I first started on Syeda and that was the worst experience of my life. I didn't even get through 2 weeks and it ended up destroying all my relationships. I stopped taking birth control completely after that and then trie...

My insurance company switched me from Orsythia to Vienva without notifying me, so I took it for the first week thinking they had the same ingredients. Within the first week my boobs shrank, I was nauseous all the time, I was eating like crazy, and I got cystic acne all over my face (again). Orsythia has been the only bc in 6 years that has worked for me since I went from LoEstrin(discontinued). I ...

I am using Vienva and it is a horrible experience. It did stop my heavy bleeding but the side effects, such as heart rate increase, nausea, back pain, stomach pain, headaches, sweating, diarrhea, dry mouth, is crazy! Thank you for posting your experiences, I will not be taking this pill again.

I was on the pill for about 4 months. Overall, this pill regulated my period and helped subside my cramps. I decided to get off this pill and switch pills because I lost my sex drive completely. I was unable to feel aroused with my partner despite being very happy in the relationship and very low stress. I lost any form of sex drive and even feeling “sexy”. I’ve always had a consistent sex drive when I was on the IUD and before birth control, this was the first time in my life when I completely lost my sex drive. Read More Read Less

Switched from Falmina to Vienva about 6 months ago, and have very little complaints. I'm very easily nauseated and tend to vomit for the first few days after a placebo week, but the issue was solved by accompanying the pill with zofran for those days. It also makes my boobs tender and hurt a bit. Doesn't affect my periods as far as I can tell, they are the same as before. Very effective as birth control, (unwisely) tested its limits with no incident KNOCK ON WOOD. No weight gain or drastic mood changes, and it cleared up my skin! Not for everyone, but thankful it works for me :) Read More Read Less

While I didn’t get pregnant while taking this birth control I almost lost my mind. My pharmacy gave me this birth control without telling me. Normally I take Lutera. I didn’t think anything of it because they are supposed to be the same formulation. Well, over the course of two months of taking Vienva I became a horrible anxious, depressed mess. I felt super nauseous every morning, my feet and armpits were always soaked. I thought something was wrong with me. I felt like a different person. I started having panic attacks which something I hadn’t experienced before. I was considering on going on anti anxiety medication it was so bad. I couldn’t figure out why I had suddenly changed until I remembered that my birth control was changed. I immediately switched back to Lutera and after three weeks of taking Lutera again I feel 100% better. I am no longer having panic attacks and I don’t feel a background hum of depression. I feel like me again! In short, if you’re prescribed this medication and you don’t feel like yourself it’s the medication not you. Read More Read Less

I got on the pill for my fibroids and it does help that problem 100%. I have one period every month when I’m on the pill. I got off and started back taking them. HOWEVER, the mental aspect and the mood swings I cannot handle. Everybody doesn’t have the same issues, but as for me, it made me very very suicidal because I’m already dealing it so much mentally. It definitely pushed my thought patterns more to a negative connotation daily. Regrettably, I would rather bleed out than be angry and wanting to kill myself every single day. Read More Read Less

I need birth control because my periods are painful to the point of vomiting and passing out, i was switched to this one because my last one gave me chronic constipation. My experience with this birth control actively makes my day to day life hard and miserable. I have tried it twice, last year and this year. Upon my first time taking it, it seemed normal, I didnt gain or lose weight because of any appitite, but lost weight because this pill made me nauseous ALL THE TIME. I was nauseous in the morning, sometimes during the day and ESPECIALLY at night (i take the pill in the morning for reference). At night when I come home from school and try to get my work done and my hobbies which I enjoy doing, I cant. I am battling the feeling to vomit. My first time taking the pill I started a 3 month long mini period, where i was spotting black and brown blood that made me smell horrible. My boobs were swollen and hurt all the time and i was CRAMPING all the time too. Now a year later i'm nauseous all the time again, and i developed acne 2 days into taking it, and I naturally have clear skin. Writing this because while trying to study I needed to go eat some yogurt to curb the nausea, and was interrupted because the urge to vomit became too strong. Just need to finish these last 2 packs then I can switch.Read More Read Less

I have taken several different branded birth controls that have the same formulation as Vienva and haven't had much of an issue. However, Vienva has given me terrible anxiety and panic attacks that I have never experienced prior to taking this medication. I thought there was something wrong with me! I've bought supplements, did counseling, and meditation and nothing worked. I almost decided to get on psychiatric medication but I ran across Vienva causing anxiety. I didn't have anxiety like this until I started Vienva! I was fine before taking this birth control and now I am a mess. I'd recommend going with a different medication. Read More Read Less

This is my first birth control ever (20 yrs old) and I’ve been on it for two months. I’m constantly nauseous and always with headaches. I’ve noticed that I’ve been eating a lot more than normal and my face has been breaking out BAD. I’ve had bad mood swings, my energy is always low and I’m constantly on the verge of tears. My first weeks I felt little to nothing, but the second month has been hell.

The worst pill of my life! Before this pill my period used to be round the clock to exact 28days cycle, always on time. After starting this pill i would have 14 days of spotting, very long heavy irregular periods, never starts on time during the sugar pills, and will last for over a week and always would start early. The 14 days long spotting/ period would basically take over half of my month. I dumped the pills after trying it for 5 months. That’s 5 months too long I gave it a shot. Been taking Vienva for over a year now and love it. My periods have always been regular and it hasn’t changed it at all. Haven’t had any heavier or prolonged bleeding. As far as my mood and appetite there hasn’t been any noticeable changes. Not sure if it’s the pills or taking better care of my skin but i have noticed a decrease in acne and scarring. The only down side was i did gain some weight but not really in my stomach. In the past year I’ve went up two bra sizes and gain a lot of face fat. Overall i haven’t had any major problems with it.Read More Read Less

I highly recommend anybody who suffers with their mental health to not take this. I only took this for a month and I didn’t even read reviews before hand to “scare” me… if I did I would’ve known that this is why I’ve been crying everyday , mood swings that are unbearable, I even had made an appointment with my psychiatrist thinking i needed my anti depressant changed due to my depressive low mood. Up until I looked into my pack and seen a couple pills left and it hit that this was the root of my anxiety and depression skyrocketing. This could be a great fit for somebody else but if your already dealing with a mental health disorder I would say talk to your doctor about other options Read More Read Less

I was a different bc for a little less than a year and i didn’t notice much bad. I lost a little weight and lost my appetite. My periods were easier. Then i got switched to Veinva because they stopped making my previous one and it was ok too. It worked well for awhile. I got a little bad acne before and that was fine. Also a little weight gain but nothing bad. Until about a 8 months in i got very emotional before my period. I was crying, mood swings, trouble sleeping, anxiety, and i felt i was going a little crazy ??. Overall for the most part it worked well for me to stop heavy bleeding.Read More Read Less

I have been taking this birth control for about 2.5 years now. at first it made me get headaches and nausea, but after a few weeks i was okay. it made my periods very light and regulated my cycle. never had spotting, about 1 time a year i’ll get an extra period but it’s rare. i will say it’s made me pretty moody and a little more sad, but honestly it’s getting better. i have noticed when it’s super hot outside i get dizzy and almost pass out, but who knows if it’s from the birth control or a different underlying problem. it’s decreased my cramp pain aswell. i hope to continue using it but my birth control provider ended their company so i’m lost on where to get it now. there’s a lot of negative reviews, but thankfully mine is a positive one! mostly every birth control has horrible reviews, it’s all up to your body on how to react. i didn’t gain weight from this pill, i actually lost a lot of weight. i aswell had an eating disorder at the time, but even now when i’m back to eating regularly i don’t notice any weight gain, just some bloating here and there. Honestly Vienva was a very mild birth control for me with very rare to no side effects. the only thing was that my period would start consistently a week before the placebo bills, essentially the hormone was not strong enough to regulate my periods. for reference i’ve always had very normal periods, regular flow usually 5 days. and this dragged them out so long I had to switch

So I’ve been taking this birth control for almost a year now very first time I ever take any form of birth control and my experience has been good. No pregnancy scares at all which I am very very happy about. However I did gain a hefty amount of weight which I’m not too thrilled about and I am extremely sensitive over everything and also frequently deal with light cramps before and after periods it’s a constant thing but I have just been dealing with it. But aside from all that it’s been good preventing pregnancy for me. Read More Read Less

I've actually had a positive experience with Vienva. I'm 22 and it's my first birth control pill. The very first pack I would get extremely nauseous at night but it only lasted about 2 weeks and it hasn't happened again. My periods are much lighter, and I know they say weight gain or its hard to lose can happen but I actually lost some weight after I started exercising. I do get a bit moody during the last active week and I can feel it but after being on it for months I've just kinda learned to be more conscious and calm down lol ...Read More Read Less

I got switched to this without warning from Lessina and I do not like it at all. It’s completely messed up my periods! I used to get it pretty much the same day every month on Lessina and now I’m getting it early or late and it’s lasting a lot longer. I’ve also been getting random bleeding between periods. This is super abnormal to me since I’ve always had pretty normal periods, even before going on birth control. Currently dealing with cramps and bleeding only on the second week so I’m definitely not staying on this. Read More Read Less
