I was on this pill for 5 years. Got off it when I decided to get pregnant. After I had my daughter I got back on. This pill is very effective. I have no cramping and my periods completely stopped as it did before I even had my daughter. I consulted my doctor and she said that is does happen to a small percentage of females. Am currently in the hospital being treated for numerous blood clots caused by this drug. I was lucky to finally catch them when there were other ones that formed in the past few months that I didn't know of. So many of something deadly and all in less than a year. Now I will have to be on blood thinners for almost a year. Just be careful. This is a very high dose of estrogen and can be life altering or life ending.

Dealing with possible endometriosis, when I had my periods I would bleed heavily for 3 months straight. I would be off for a week and then bleed again. Also had horrible pain that was affecting my life. Had so much nausea I lost weight like crazy and was down to 95lbs. Had tried just about every other type of birth control pill. I started taking it on the first day of my period. It was way lighter right away and stopped after 5 days! Cramps eased up. The nausea was worse at first but within about a week it went away. I've gained an appropriate amount of weight- back up to 115 which I consider my healthy weight. The worst part of taking it was that it made me exhausted. I literally slept like 15 hours a day the first week I took it. I had a really hard time getting through a shift at work. (It was still worth it to not be in excruciating pain.) Within a couple weeks that seemed to get better too, though I'm still not back to my normal energy level. I find that I have to be really careful to take it at the same time every day. Within half hour late of taking it, I get cold sweats, dizzy, nauseated. Then when I take it I get so tired like when I first started taking it and I'll pass out for a good 12-15 hours. I was worried about being crazy moody and emotional on it or growing excess hair but no problem w either of these. Overall really happy with this. It got results that no other med achieved for me. I have been on this product for nearly four years. I have had mostly satisfaction. In the beginning the pill really worked well for me, didn't have as much flow or cramps. Recently, I have been developing more cramps however.

I was put on this pill to try and help my cysts. Both of my ovaries are covered in them, and my right one is enlarged, which is scary because it’s very similar to what happened to my mother before she had ovarian cancer. I also have endometriosis, and it was supposed to help that a little as well but all this pill did for me was make things worse. I’m only 23 and have already had 2 laparoscopic surgeries for my endometriosis, which started when I was 17, or that’s when they found it anyway. My new doctor doesn’t want to do surgery because he doesn’t want to create any more scar tissue. I would like to have another lap done for him to biopsy my cysts to see if they’re cancerous, but he says they can’t biopsy cysts. I don’t know how true that is, I’ve known people who’ve had cysts biopsied before but whatever. Anyway, this pill may work for others, as everyone’s different, but for me it caused me more pain. It also caused me to swell up like a balloon mainly in my breasts and legs, but it also added 20 lbs within a months’ time so if you have had bad experiences with birth control in the past, then this probably won’t be any different. It made me sick, swollen, bloated, and made my entire body ache so I’m done with this high hormone stuff. I also want another lap because some things have become more painful than they once were and I want to know if something else is going on. All my tests are good but that doesn't mean anything, other than I don't have STD's. I'm just getting so sick of doctors not doing their job... Sorry for the rant, just trying to help. I switched to this birth control because I was having irregular bleeding. My irregular bleeding stopped and my periods were lighter. I have always cramped enought that advil would take care of it, but on this medication I have to take painkillers for my cramps. That is the only downside I've experienced. Everything else is great.

Necon has been helpful. Although I used if for birth control, I was having 2 periods a month on a previous pill (have never been regular). Necon decreased my periods at first, but I have since been having 2 periods a month again. My periods are super light and last 3 to 5 days, but liner only. PMS symptoms are mild (irritability mostly) with no cramping. Necon is very effective.
