Just a word of caution. My dad at 81 and in good shape was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic NSCLC and was using Tecentriq after 4 rounds of chemo(Cisplatin/Etoposide) that basically just held the cancer in check. After two cycles of Tecentriq he developed Colitis which resulted in persistent hemorrhagic diarrhea along with fatigue and loss of appetite. He also was very anxious as his heartbeat became irregular and on one of the hospital visits mentioned he may be in a-fib. They decided to stop the Tecentriq but couldnâ??t reverse the effects. On his third and final visit they said he had chronic heart failure and sepsis and was moved to hospice where he passed in one day. While immunotherapy seems to have worked for others or caused no side effects, know that if you fall into the minority the side effects are not good and very quick(~6 weeks from his first cycle). It certainly cut my dads life short rather than sticking with chemo or even no treatment at all, so be prepared mentally if you chose this option as a possibility. Good Luck.Read More Read Less
