I wouldn't wish it on anyone. That said, it's almost a relief knowing I'm not alone. I threw away half of my clothes.(The bottom half). It definitely was not as described by my Gastro. At best I referred to this as my emergency evacuation pill. Until last weekend. Feeling bloated too long, I reluctantly took one Trulance 3mg. Suffice it to say the 7lbs I lost didn't include my clothing. A full we...

Works within 3 hours of taking the pill. Just my second week and the flood gates are open. I was on Linzess for 4 months and nothing happened so my Dr recommended Truelance. Diarrhea over load . Drinking lots of water . I hope it gets better . I am just glad to be going

The reviews scared me so much that i only took a 1/4 pill the first few days and it had no effect. The next two days i took a half a pill. I finally have had some movements. No pain at all. A little bloating maybe. Not much side effects. No pain no diarhea. I think it's making me a little sleepy which i like since i always have insomnia. Give it a try. Just start slowly

I used it before when it was prescribed and it took about a day to work. Was bloated and had some mild cramps. Tonight, after about 8 months of not needing it, I had to take it again. It worked within 1 hour, I was trying to use an enema but had a hard time with it therefore had to take the pill. A lot of gas, lots of going to the bathroom since my stomach was making a lot noise and had the urge of going. The pill works, I just wish I could control it more. Next time I will take half the pill. Not sure if I can go to work tomorrow....will see the effects of it in the morning.Read More Read Less

I suggest taking this medication 5 to 4 hours prior to bed. You definitely need to be near a bathroom where you are comfortable letting the flood gates open. It took about 4 days to start working. You'll have the pure runs about 2 to 4 hours after taking it. That'll last a couple a hours before you get control of it. After a week of taking it I skipped a couple doses, because of my grandfather's funeral then going on a long over night trip. I can't have a bowel movement without it though. As for the side effects everyone has mentioned. I've only experienced a little but of stomach discomfort and nauseous , but I had before starting the medication. Not sure if it's just the normal thing I've had or the medication. It definitely didn't improve that. The stomach bloating hasn't improved. I've actually had to cut my food intake majorly since starting it because I can't take the swollen stomach feeling anymore. I do feel like I have to poop most of the time, which is annoying because I can't until I take the pill. The diarrhea has decreased somewhat. I'm about two and half weeks into it. Not sure I want to continue having the runs every night. I don't even want to spend the night with my boyfriend. Forget the alone time! Follow up appointment next week, so I'll see what she says. I know I can't do this forever. My job doesn't allow time for to take it during the day. If you have a busy life good luck! Read More Read Less

It took about 8 days before it started to work. When it did, it worked for a few weeks and again I was back to where I had started off with no movement. This time it was followed with severe gas and bloating like crazy. I can barely eat now and still in pain. It was great when it worked but now I'm worse.

Took and 45 mins later diarrhea....bad. it's not worth it if you can't leave the bathroom or your house. No one needs to be so empty your insides have collapsed.

In Nov 2022 I had a hemorrhoidectomy, Reconstructive colorectal surgery, (very painful surgery) just to have thrombosed/prolapsed hemorrhoids internally removed at the age of 43-I’m a female. I was put on Miralax to produce loose bowels to heal with all the stitches up on the inside. Took Miralax for 6 months. Was later prescribed Linzess which helped slow down how many times I was running to the restroom. Linzess was great until it felt like it wasn’t working at its full potential. My gastroenterologist prescribed me Trulance and have been on it for about 1 month now Nov 2023. There is at times where I have gas and bloating while making a bowel movement but for the most part is helps relieve any constipation. It works very well. It is activated by the amount of water one can drink through out the day. At times I have experienced small bouts of nausea, but not enough to stop taking it. I am satisfied with the results of this medicine and it has also helped me loose weight. I expect to be off medicine and return to a normal daily life but only time will tell. I also do not take the pill daily. It’s every other day to regulate my busy schedule I have, working on an ambulance. Eating a well balanced diet and drinking water helps my body regulate this medicine. Read More Read Less

I've been taking Trulance for two weeks now. I've experienced no side effects and am having daily bowel movements. Prior to this, I had tried everything: linzess, miralax, lifestyle changes, you name it. I finally feel normal.

I have chronic constipation due to adhesions and scar tissue from endometriosis and 3 abdominal surgeries in the 70’s. As I’ve aged, my bowels are a mess and I’ve developed SIBO with constipation. Taking MiraLAX for years and it started tremendous bloating. My doctor gave me samples of.Trulance and with the first dose, I was in agony all night with sharp pains and bloating. I finally was able to pass some stool with a lot of difficulty. Now I’m scared to try it again. I’m glad to hear the I can cut the pill but not glad to hear about the price. Seriously doubt that I’ll get the guts to try it again anyway. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I wish I had read them before I took that pill. Read More Read Less

I have struggled for four long years to find a product that actually works and I was lucky enough to find this which not only works but it doesn't have any side effects and I can take it whenever I want with or without food. It was a struggle to get insurance approval and a pharmacy to stock it but it was worth every effort. I rarely leave reviews and never for a medication but this Rx is really amazing.

I will never take this medication again. Within 1hr (10pm) I had severe pain. Cramps, headaches, gas and my stomach was rumbling. I was back and forth to the restroom all night thinking I was going to have a bowel movement. I finally had a small bowel movement by 2 pm the next day. My stomach was bloated as if I was pregnant.

When my Doctor prescribed this to me she said I could take it everyday it would help me go Daily. There’s some days it doesn’t work. It won’t work for like 3 days. It’s very aggravating.

The first few weeks i had runny stools and felt safer if I was close to a bathroom wherever I was. Not so often now. Like most sufferers report, what a small price to pay for your stools to finally move! This constipation journey has been a real trip. I’m more worried it might stop working and less about runny poo. That being said if I was planning on an outing not close to bathrooms (like hiking or kayaking). I wouldn’t take it that morning. Currently I’m starting to “backup” again, and THAT is worrisome for sure.Read More Read Less

I have been on Trulance coming up on a year. It has helped me so much. I take it when I go to bed, and when I wake up I usually am able to have a normal bowel movement within 2 hours. If I wake up really early though, I have have bad diarrhea, but I would much rather have that then be constipated.

If I could turn back time….. I would have read these reviews first. I took my first dose before bed like at 10 pm thinking morning time I’d be able to go. Within about an hour I had the worst gas keeping me scared if I was going to poo myself. Finally fell asleep only to he woken at 2:30 am needing to change my clothes! Thank god the husband wasn’t home or he probably would never look at me the same. I will not be taking this ever again. I’m traumatized.

Have taken Linzess for years, worked great for me and with my system. 10 years ago, I lost 5 ft of my small intestine, a year later had to have abdominal repair with mesh. My insides are a disaster as surgeons have told me. My bowels are a disaster. Insurance now doesn't cover Linzess so gastro put me on this. This medication should truly come with some major warnings and those warnings should be told to patients before they try it! Unreal cramps, unreal! Unbearable pain, severe cramps, never knowing when the cramp is actually a bowel movement about to happen. Do not make plans to go anywhere at anytime while you are on this medication, the unknowns and the pain is so harsh that is will basically change your lifestyle. This medication is not the answer for people with bowel issues! I will pay the full price for Linzess before I will ever take another one of these pills. This medication needs huge warnings!Read More Read Less

I have been struggling with IBS-C since I was about 7 years old, and I’m 23 now. Nothing has ever worked well for me. It’s been so horrible that I’ve gone nearly a month without a bowel movement before! Before Trulance, I’d be lucky if I had a bowel movement once a week. I’ve tried nearly every medication for IBS-C, and Trulance is the best relief I’ve been able to find. I finally feel like a somewhat normal person. I take it every day around 7:30 AM, eat breakfast at 8 AM, and by 10 AM I’m having a bowel movement. Yes, it is loose (often diarrhea) but I will take diarrhea any day over what I was dealing with before. I occasionally get some stomach cramping, but with how bad my cramping used to get, it honestly feels pretty minor to me. This is a VERY powerful medication, and should truly only be taken if all other options have failed. It WILL clear you out! Personally I love it, as I finally feel lightweight and full of energy. It makes me feel like a normal person, which I never knew was possible. This medication is truly heaven-sent. I wish I would’ve found out about Trulance years ago. Read More Read Less

The advantage is that with a tablet, you can cut it in half. I tried lizness and it was awful. Terrible diarrhea. Leaking all day. With trulance I was able to take a half tablet and go to toilet an hour later. One bowel movement and I was good for the rest of the day. Much easier for me.

I took my 1st pill today. After reading the review here, I was concerned I would have excessive GI symptoms with this medication. So far (7 hours after ingestion) nothing much has happened. I felt some rumbling, so that at least was encouraging. I am a bit worried not to have the powerful effect described by others, but I'm confident it will happen - hopefully on day 2!
