I have been on Verzenio for 9 months. I have stage 4 Low Grade Serous Ovarian Carcinoma. I started out with the full recommended dose but they lowered it after the 1st month. The diarrhea is the worst!! Sometimes it's like 9 times a day so I take Imodium everyday. I also have nausea most days and extreme fatigue. My tumors and a couple lymph nodes are shrinking though like 3 cm, so I guess I will ...

They should rename this drug and either call it the diarrhea drug or parasite diet! Horrible side effects; extreme diarrhea, headaches, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, extreme tiredness, and brain fog.

I started on 150 mg 2x/day and had awful diarrhea and my white blood cell counts dropped lower with each oncology visit. I was taking 6 to 8 Imodium a day and my Amazon auto-ship order couldn't come fast enough to keep up with just how much of it I was taking. Plus, it never fully helped with stopping diarrhea and the only drug available to counter chronic diarrhea has a known risk of possibly seizing up your intestines, so I it was a hard no for me to request that prescription. I made the decision to stop taking Verzenio after one month of constant diarrhea, I maybe had 2 - 4 days at most without diarrhea that whole time. It was like having the stomach bug forever. My WBC counts fully returned to normal a month after stopping Verzenio. My oncologist now recommends taking 1x/day of the 100 mg Verzenio tablets. There are ways to manage it and you can try lower doses. Read More Read Less

I had dramatic negative side effects, which basically reduced my quality of life to zero. And, with a ki-67 of 1%, it's not even clear I was likely to benefit from this drug. It IS clear that even the top oncologists, at the top hospitals, don't really understand how this drug works, who it is appropriate for, what dose a given patient should receive, or how to manage the (many) side effects. Note: I did not have diarrhea (which I was warned about extensively), but I did have profound fatigue, nausea, sores throughout my mouth and even inside my eyelids, frequent urination, headaches, and ultimately chills and a fever--probably from a sinus infection I developed while on Verzenio. My white blood cell count and platelets were low. I was only on Verzenio for two weeks and it has taken more than two weeks to recover from it. I'm concerned I may not be strong enough in time for my scheduled reconstructive surgery.Read More Read Less

This is the worst medication I've ever used compared to chemo. The only solution I got for severe diarrhea was more Imodium. It's not worth it to me anymore. I'm gonna stop taking it.

On Verzieno and Anestrizole for 6 months. Problem with low neutrophils and a chronic nagging cough. On 50mg twice a day. Very active with lots of energy. How do i control this cough. Do not want to decrease dose.

I started on 50 mg twice a day and was gradually advanced to 150 mg twice a day. I haven't had any side effects except have just started experiencing hair loss. I feel very fortunate and have about 15 more months to go.

I'm grateful for these accurate reviews. This drug is horribly difficult to endure. I handled chemo, radiation, surgeries without flinching, but this...it barely allows you to have a life for how ill it makes you feel. I was on 150 2X per day, after 5 months of sitting n the toilet, they dropped to 100 2X per day. Fighting diarrhea never ends, but sometimes now I have short victories. So, so tired. I get a weird, tingling feeling that kind of "burns" that goes all the way to the top of my head. Gas and bloating, shortness of breadth, nausea, brain fog, watery & light-sensitive and dizziness that causes me to fall. Broke ribs once, Broke arm another time, broke knee the last time. Now I have a blood clot! Ugh. 9-1/2 years to go. Wish me luck.Read More Read Less

The first few months I had to run to the bathroom with diarrhea and extreme stomach pain. Reduced dosage to 100 mg. Side effects eased off somewhat but still have them. I have found that cutting out soft drinks (carbonated drinks) have reduced stomach pain. 1 year down, trying to stick it out.

Started on 150 mg , had diarrhea but the stomach pain was the worst, stayed on soup for months. Went down to 50 mg, still have stomach pain, constant nausea, headaches and dizziness. Not sure how much longer i can deal with these side effects. No way to know if it's effective with early stage (i also had axillary node involvement) other than scans to see if cancer comes back.

When I first started this drug a year ago the diarrhea was out of control. As others have said...you cant even leave the house and god help you if you have an accident..it isnt pretty :( I started getting really lethargic prob related to dehydration so they lowered my dose to 100mg. Ive been good for 7 months. Have the occasional episode and abdominal pain but otherwise good. Have 2 more years of this

I have a fairly high threshold to endure pain but truly this drug was worse than my previous chemo treatments combined. I had numerous side effects as listed in the Verzenio site. It was the worst drug I have ever taken. I work full time and it almost made me have to quit my job. I constantly had to sleep and felt absolutely horrible. I had severe headaches, could not eat more than a few bites as my stomach felt full and bloated nausea, diarrhea, dizziness and eyes kept watering and stinging. Quality of life is important and I need to keep my job. My Oncologist took me off Verzenio. She did share that other patients had similar experiences. Read More Read Less

I took Verzenio for a month. I felt dizzy, nauseous, ached all over, had brain fog, exhausted all the time, and had a terrible terrible headache the entire time I was taking it. I couldn't drive to the store because of dizziness and feeling so sickly. I stayed in my bed literally for the entire month except when I went to doctor's appointments which my sister drove me to. I was so constipated and couldn't have a BM for 5 days, even though for three of the five days I took laxatives each day a bigger dose. I had to have a prescription for Lactulose in order for me to have a BM. I am a nurse and I know for a fact that people die from impaction and I feel that, that was where I was headed. I had anxiety that was through the roof. I felt like I was dying. I couldn't get out of bed and enjoy any part of my life. I have many creative hobbies which I couldn't participate in because I was very ill. I couldn't eat properly, which isn't good when you are fighting cancer. I had a wound from being burned with a heating pad on my leg that wouldn't heal and got worse as time went by so my doctor took me off Verzenio because it causes your own immune system to bottom out. After I stopped taking Verzenio every day I felt better and better. I couldn't believe how marvelous I felt after about three weeks of not taking it. The doctor wants me to take one dose a day rather than two, but after not taking this med for three weeks and knowing how terrible it makes me feel I NEVER want to take this again! They say that it is to save my life. As a nurse, I have seen people have chemo and all sorts of meds that made them feel miserable and gave them a poor quality of life only to die anyway. I figure I would rather live a better quality of life and not take this terrible medication.Read More Read Less

So sick every day for the last 4 months. Headache, nausea, stomach pain, and central nervous system sensitivity. The latter is hard to explain, but sound seems louder, lights are brighter, and a strong sense of agitation. Extreme fatigue. Short of breadth. It feels like you are dying. And I don't even know if it works.
