Had been on Advair for 10 yrs and gladly switched 5/2019 as my out of pocket limit was going way up under new plan. Same drugs and dosage but the delivery to the system seems less effective. With Advair I could miss a dose or be a few hours late and I wouldnâ??t even notice it. Now, I need to be really careful to take it exactly 12 hrs apart as thereâ??s no margin. Also I think I have to be more c...

I find the mouth piece difficult to use. It does not seem like I am inhaling enough of the medication.

Lifelong asthma gal, have been using advair for most of my life but was using the 250/50 dosage and would sometimes forget to take it in the morning so I wasnt doing twice like prescribed. My dr had the idea to switch to wixela inhub 500/50 so I could only take once a day and let me tell you the switch was pretty dramatic. I am struggling to breath all the time now, wheezing constantly, taking inhaler like 4/5 times A DAY. Its only been about 2 months and I'm done struggling to breathe so I had to switch back to advair 250/50. Not sure how Wixela is different but boy oh boy could my body tell the difference. I sometimes felt like I was breathing in no medicine and then another dose will send powder to the back of my throat and makes me cough horribly.

Our insurance stopped paying for Advair and we had to switch to Wixella, which I don’t think is working well I find myself wheezing here and there and it’s a shame because the cost of the disc is very expensive but I really miss Advair and want to find another medication I am not happy with Wixela.

I was changed over to Wixela from having been on Advair for several years, 3 weeks into the switch and I am miserable, short of breath, coughing, plem in chest, this is not even close to Advair!

I was switched from Advair to Wixela about 10 days ago and quickly noticed a dramatic rapid decline in condition. My borderline controlled asthma has been replaced by dispair and misery. I haven't felt anywhere near like this since starting my current combination of RX nearly a year ago. Just getting through the work day is difficult now and my productive is suffering. It is absurd how quickly and dramatically my condition has changed. Starting Wixela is like having the light switch flipped off even though it is supposed to be the same drug. A more comprehesnive review of Advair vs Wixela is needed for those suffering severe Asthma. It just doesn't seem to work.Read More Read Less

HORRIBLE!!! The particles are highly irritative. Advair is not on Medicare drug plans--doing well for 20+ years. Now I am coughing all the time and feel shortness of breath. USA patients are exploited by unconscionable GREEDY Big Pharma, and priced out of Advair, while the rest of the world pays peanuts for Advair; so the Medicare drug plan pushes this generic "wanna-be" medicine on us. Shameful greed. I would like to throw this inhaler and hit some greedy bigwig in the head! Oooo, would feel so good. .... THIS IS NOT ADVAIR!!!!!!!!!Read More Read Less

I had to read the instructions a couple of times to make sure I was using it correctly however, I’ve been using it for almost 2 weeks And it seems like I have a tight ace bandage wrapped around my ribs. My chest is so tight after using it and it seems like I’m coughing more which I guess cleaning out my lungs would be the purpose of it? One of my concerns is you’re supposed to immediately rinse out your mouth after using it, so is it bad for my mouth, but good for my lungs? I’ve had to use my rescue inhaler a lot more. I triggered the inhaler and dumped it on a piece of paper to see what’s in it and it’s actually a crystalline type powder with little black shards not sure how good that is for my lungs I have found no benefit from using this just weight gain and sore ribsRead More Read Less

Advair controlled my asthma to the point that I was completely asymptomatic. I've been on Wixela for several weeks now and my breathing has deteriorated to the point I'm having trouble walking even short distances. Just getting ready for work in the morning leaves me out of breath. I have become effectively disabled by asthma. Wixela is horrible.

The VA will not cover Symbicort and switched me to Wixela. Within a week I knew Wixela would be ineffective. I am still wheezing and feel like my lungs are constricted. I’ve contacted my VA doctor but that takes forever to get a response. They tell me I need to fail a course of Wixela and another inhaler…

The primatine mist of steroid inhalers. This is an ineffective drug. Wixela shouldn't be on the market. Advair controls my asthma. Insurance companies want me to go to the hospital instead of giving me the meds I've used for 20 years. Shameful!

If I could give negative stars I would. Doesn’t work and I had all of the side effects , almost taking me to the hospital. Chest pain, extreme headache, dizziness, vomiting. I don’t know how this stuff can even be approved by the FDA. Horrible!!

Wixela is not ADVAIR!!! The delivery system is terrible!! The worst delivery system I've ever encountered. I have to question if the medication is actually even being delivered.

Wixela is an ineffective alternative to Advair. With Advair I can take one dose everyday and forget that I even have asthma. My insurance provider has chosen to save costs and now I’m being forced to take Wixela. I feel my asthma everyday. With Wixela I never get a proper dose of my medicine and feel like I need to take 2-3 puffs. It’s so awful. I might as well not have an asthma medication while on Wixela. How this managed to be certified as a generic alternative is irresponsible and gross negligence Read More Read Less

First I was worried with all the negative reviews. The first day my body was adjusting the powder felt like was a lot and felt going in lungs. The next day and ever since haven’t felt the powder and my lungs feel much better. There are many of reviews on here that are negative but I am sure there are lots more positive feedback. I wanted to give a honest review that may help someone live a better life. Thank you.

The mouth part is the way of switch that you pull, but most of all I have to use it 2 to 3 time to get it to work right. I had Advil and I am going to find out why they switched me cause this thing is junk

The actuator does not effectively distribute the medication to the lungs. I had to have an override from my physician to get my Advair disc by Prasco. The Advair disc is superior to Wixela. The insurance companies are pushing this Wixela, but the Wixela product is extremely poor.

I have been taking Spiriva for many years to control my COPD shortness of breath symptoms. Recently I started getting very short of breath after climbing one flight of steps. My Pulmonologist at the Bronx VA had me start using Wixila twice daily in addition to continuing Spiriva. Within one week I was no longer getting SOB after climbing stairs. My stamina seems to have improved and I only need to use my Albuteral inhaler a few times a week. I am very satisfied with Wixela

I've used Advair for about 9 years and it worked well for me. I was switched to Wixela about 2 months ago by my insurance. My breathing is noticeably worse, I'm coughing, hoarse and clearing my throat often. I'm not sure if this medication is doing much at all. When I was on Advair I rarely needed to use my rescue inhaler, now I need to use it almost daily.
