was using Nuvaring and now will be using Annovera. Easier to use in my opinion and more comfortable way more comfortable the ring is softer like gel compared to the hardness of NuvaRing

I am pretty sensitive to progesterone. I had hoped this would work, but it caused severe cramping 24/7 and loose stool. However, I would recommend people try it as everyone is different! No mood side effects.

I've used this off and on for nearly three years. I don't prefer birth control when I am not sexually active so there are larges gaps in usage. I also do not like to be ejaculated in so I honestly have no real opinion on how well it works to prevent pregnancy. I do appreciate that I do not experience as severe mood shifts that I experience with other forms of birth control. I do NOT experience hair loss nor acne. I have experienced weight gain, unfortunately. Another thing that I am not a fan of is inserting and removing the ring. I get grossed out by it. It would be a lot better if I had a man to assist me.Read More Read Less

In years past I used Nuva Ring. Had zero problems with it. After my last child I decided to get my tubes tied because I really wanted off of birth control for good. However, after being off of birth control since late 2019, I started showing signs of pcos. Of course my doctor wanted me to try birth control to regulate my periods etc. She recommended Annovera and I tried it out. I’ve been on it for one month and have had one cycle. It’s strange, but I had zero side effects when I started it. Took it out for 7 days for my period. Put it back in on July 10th. Ever since July 14th I have felt like crap. My breast are very tender, I’m exhausted but have a terrible time falling asleep. I get a mild headache every day and nausea since the 14th. I’m also having horrible anxiety. I truly think it’s the birth control. It’s the ONLY thing in my life that has changed recently. I just think it’s weird that it took a month to start bothering me. Will definitely reach out to my doctor to go back to Nuva ring. Read More Read Less

I have tried many birth control forms, iud, pills, and nuva ring, so I wanted to try Annovera when my doctor told me it was good for a year. The ring is thick but not too difficult to insert. However, the side effects were terrible. I’ve never had such bad side effects from a medicine. I felt like my whole world was spinning and felt like something was really wrong. I went to the doctor and got medicine for vertigo and nausea. It hardly helped. My gynecologist suggested to wait and see if my body adjusted to the ring. But after suffering for about a week, I finally decided to take out the ring and my side effects were gone by the next day. I quickly threw it away and went back to nuva ring. The 100$+ i lost was worth losing to not have to deal with the effects. I would not recommend this birth control. I recently saw an ad for it on tv and felt I should leave my experience to help steer people away. Read More Read Less

I had tried oral combined birth control but was getting constant bleeding. This ring is awesome. Skin is good, no mood swings, no weight fluctuations. I felt terribly nauseous for the first week, but it subsided. I strongly recommend this birth control.

Had a difficult time finding one that worked for me as I still wanted to be able to have a monthly cycle. No mood swings, hungry or tired side effect like I had with the other ring.

The ring fits comfortably. I have to take it out a couple of times a week while in the shower to rinse it off or I have mild irritation. I wanted it to stop my cycle by leaving it in due to my cycle starting and continuing for a month and a half or so. I'm currently in my second month of use. The first month there was browning, but no flow. The second month I had break through bleeding although it is much lighter than usual. Well see how it continues to work. I might have to go back to the Nuvaring and pay close attention to my calendar. Read More Read Less

Pro: easy to insert and can’t feel it. Con: I had the worst side effects very quickly on. Within the first week in, breast pain and tenderness was so horrible I couldn’t wear a bra for weeks, the breast pain only stopped after a few days when the ring was removed. Within the first 2 weeks I also got a minor yeast infection which required medication to clear up. I also noticed a burst of depressive thoughts and emotional waves when the ring was in. All of this happened within the first month and it was too unbearable to continue.Read More Read Less

I used this for almost one full cycle before having to stop due to intense side effects. I’ve always struggled with mental health but while using this ring my depression was worse than it has been in at least a year. Not to mention I had severe cramping and bleeding way worse than my typical period when I removed the ring. It worked in the sense that it prevents pregnancy but the side effects were beyond anything I could handle.

Saw the advertising of Annovera on youtu.be and just started, so far all great. The sex is good my husband is happy as well. The ring is very small and very, very soft. I don't feel it.

Switched from Nuvaring to Annovera, Im starting to realize I like nuvaring more. Nuvaring is smaller and thinner, making it a lot less likely that you or your partner feels it. I can feel the annovera when I sit down sometimes. Weirdly enough it also seems to be interfering with my ease of stool, as well as my ability to finish sexually like its blocking some nerves. I feel like its just too big and bulky for my body. My boobs have also not stopped being extremely sore, moreso then usual when switching BC. I have also had a substantial increase in cramps. I will be talking to my doctor about switching back soon. Read More Read Less
