Worsened my acne a ton. I definitely regret using this product

I felt I had exhausted all face systems and oral medications for my acne. I've battled this all my life and still into my 40's ugh! I reached out to a new dermatologist and she prescribed me Amzeeq to try out. WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE!!!? I use this product at night paired with tazarotene. IT WORKS! I wish I knew of this so much sooner. Thank you Amzeeq for saving my face.

I’ve been using this product for about 18 months. My experience has been a mediocre one. When I first started using it, my face purged for about two months. Once the purging had gone away, I noticed an improvement in my acne/scarring. However, I also pair it with aklief. As of lately, I’m not seeing much of an improvement in my scarring. I believe the creams help with killing the bacteria build up under the skin but it terms of the scarring I’m starting to think the creams actually make my scars darker. Got some samples from my doctor, I've had no breakouts since using, and I like that my skin doesn't dry out, but I've had some stomach upset, and bloating since using, not sure if I should only use it when I have breakouts or not, I'm stopping to see if my stomach calms down. It works much better than benzaclin though

After the first application by the NP I experienced severe itching over my entire body, as well as a red rash. Nausea, dizziness, loss of appetite, not feeling well, joint pain and pain on part of leg where med was applied. No curative value at all. Dark Urine.

Looked at this thread months ago when starting amzeeq and just wanted to share my experience with it— My derm gave me a sample of this to help heal up active acne i had and i ended up loving it so much I called her for a script. If your derm has samples, I’d recommend starting there because the texture isn’t for everyone and it’s $$$. Most insurances won’t cover it. If you have more oily acne prone skin, you’ll absolutely hate it (more than likely) because it’s a very rich, creamy texture. Think straight coconut oil going on your face but thinner. I am extremely acne prone/dry skin and was very reluctant to use this as I saw coconut oil was in the ingredient list (hello clogged pores) BUT amzeeq has been very helpful for my skin. I use it once daily at night in combination with tretinoin. I do not feel like it is clogging my pores and causing more acne. Plus I no longer feel the need to purchase essences and hydrating serums as this does the job while being safe in conjunction with tretinoin. I absolutely love it and am grateful my derm had me try it. My dehydration lines are gone too which is nice. The staining can be annoying- wash your hands immediately after, make sure to use only a small amount, and purchase a black hand towel :)Read More Read Less

My irritation with dermatitis and rosacea was completely gone within a week of using. I continued using until the bottle was out and liked the way my skin felt moisturized in the morning.

I literally have never had clear skin longer than a day, but since using this at night, WOW. my skin is never breaking out. It's been a year since I started this and I'm never stopping.

I've been using Amzeeq for 2 months in combination with Winlevi and Tretinoin 0.05. I started Winlevi and Tretinoin long before and noticed some slight improvement in my acne. With Amzeeq however, I haven't noticed any improvement. On the other hand, I've had blackheads all over my face, which I've never regularly had before. It's also oily and heavy. Why would they put coconut oil in an acne medication?

After trying numerous acne medications, I finally found amzeeq. I was skeptical at first but have been using it for almost a year and can definitely see results. It has to be used consistently in order for it to work but it really does help. The main downside is that it can stain pillowcases and clothes if you’re not careful

This made my acne way worse than it ever was went to the dermatologist for mild acne and ended up with severe cystic acne and depression from how bad it got! horrible scars i gave it a chance for 10 weeks thinking eventually the “purge” will end but everyday it was a new pimple and they hurt! I finally gave up on it a week later i quit breaking out as much now im on week 11 without it its such a big difference i only get a few breakouts around my cycle but im ok with that now i hope the scars will go away with time. Gave me the worst cystic breakout of my life, am still suffering with the scars. Thanks to the incompetent dermatologist that gave me this instead of accutane.

It doesn't help nodular acne, which is my main acne concern. Dermatologist gave me samples and an RX. Used up the samples but not filling the prescription because it's way too expensive for the quality of product. It's super oily and doesn't dry fast and if you're not careful it will stain your sheets, clothes, and face cloths. Leaves an oily yellow sheen on the skin and if you even have a tiny bit left on your skin after washing your face in the morning, it reacts with other products and causes some sort of staining that gets in the top layer of your pores and looks like dozens of blackheads. My regular acne didn't get noticeably better with this and it was overall more of a negative experience to use and I'd rather skip it. Hopefully they formulate it better in the future because I'm sure a topical monocycline could be helpful for people like me who can't tolerate oral monocycline.Read More Read Less

Oily and disgusting to put on, transfers and stains everything. I have ruined shirts and towels with yellow all over them due to this awful stuff. I also have cystic acne and this broke me out so hard that my entire jawline was swollen and tested positive for infection within a week of Amzeeq use.

Im only 1.5 weeks in. This medicine is supposed to show improvement after 12 weeks but i dont know if i can hang in there for that long because i am now breaking out with painful cystic acne... I never get cystic acne. This is very unusual and im not sure if this could be considered "purging" since ive never suffered from cystic acne before. I went to my derm with mild, regular pimple concerns and now 1.5 weeks in i have had 4 cystic pimples pop up along with several other small zits. Its very greasy. The undersides of my fingernails are now stained yellow but my skin itself doesnt appear to be yellow or "jaundiced" looking. Read More Read Less

This foam just slides off my face, I don’t feel like it stays on my face long enough to work. It also stains everything yellow.

Still got a facial infection. Thought this was supposed to be a sort of topical antibiotic. It also clogged pores to the point of causing more cysts.

My 17-year-old son has had chronic acne since he was about 13. We've tried everything prescribed and OTC and nothing worked. My son was going to college this fall and REALLY wanted clearer skin. We went to a new dermatologist, and he suggested this. He said to apply at night (not during the day) and let it really soak in to the skin before bed. My son did that in June, July, and August. The treatment was very successful. Couldn't be happier.

I started using amzeeq about 2 months ago I’m currently on my 3rd month and I think this medication is giving me blackheads (which I’ve never had before in my life)and is clogging my pores which I have seen other people say the same about this product so I’m almost 100% sure that it is this. Its very greasy and oily so when you apply it you only need about a pea sized amount or even less. But since using it I’ve noticed it does not work well with my skin since my skin is already oily. It makes me feel so gross as the day goes on because it is sooo greasy and has a yellow tint with just even the smallest amount. I wouldn’t really recommend for people with oily skin and if you do try it try the smallest amount less is definitely more with this product.Read More Read Less
