This new patch called Twirla from Agile Therapuetics is great!! I love it. Much safer than my other patch. A few of my girlfriends have switched from the pill as well because they always forget to take it. Safe, effective, donâ??t have to worry about taking a pill everyday.

Loved it at first but ended up pregnant after using for a few months. My BMI is over 25 so there’s an increased failure rate. Just an FYI for anyone considering this med.

I bled heavier than any period I have ever had starting in week 2. I had several large clots passing. I stopped twirla and I am still bleeding very heavy from it. It is awful and I am returning to the doctor to see why. I have never reacted this poorly to a form of birth control. It is honestly scary how much this affected my body

I was on the twirla patch for 3 months. Compared to other birth control I've used it had less side effects overall, but still made me nervous sometimes for no reason and gave me really bad constant heartburn, so I had to stop using it. I don't have very sensitive skin so there was no issue there, and it stayed on pretty well so long as I didn't put it where my clothes would rub on it. Survived through me taking daily showers just fine. My insurance didn't cover it but they have a discount program so you won't have to pay full price (around $60 per month). Didn't work for me, but might be fine for someone else.Read More Read Less

For someone with sensitive skin, I would not recommend Twirla. It made my skin 10x more sensitive to where I couldn’t even wear my normal everyday makeup. It was fine the first month other than the patch falling off the first application week. The second month after my patch free week, I applied my patch and immediately got itchy bumps and hives on my face, neck, and arms. I woke up a couple time with my face swelled up and had to get a steroid shot from doctor to get it down. This happened multiple times and only after application. I still have itchy bumps on my arms. This ruined my skin for awhile. Read More Read Less

I used xulane for over 10 years then switched to twirla when my insurance stopped covering xulane. I have been breakthrough bleeding for 3 weeks straight after using twirla for almost 2 months, which I read is normal for the body to adjust to new BC. The main issue I have is the Twirla patch comes off very easily when wet in the shower or swimming, or even just laying in bed I moved and it completely peeled off and stuck to my bed sheets. I rarely ever had this problem with Xulane patch, so this was annoying. Twirla is not water resistant at all it feels like a regular bandaid cloth material, it stays moist for a bit after contact with water, so I worry about fungus and itchiness from the moist patch on my skin. You also have very few options for where to place the patch on your body without it lifting off easily, and losing stickiness. It’s also fairly larger than the xulane patch so it’ll be harder to hide under bathing suits during the summer. I’m considering switching back to xulane because it’s just so much easier and less visible. I also wish they made the color of the patches more inclusive for skin colors because darker complexions deserve to have a patch that blends to their skin tone too. Only thing I liked about it was that it has less hormones and I feel like my migraines have lessened since on it. But at this point I’m not even sure if that’s worth it anymore since it tends to fall off more easily. Read More Read Less

I have never left a review before, ever. Mostly because every product I bought was what I expected. I cannot even remotely say the same about this “Twirla” product. I don’t know what it was about this product but within two hours of putting it on everything went wonky. I felt so sick, sad, depressed. I feel like whatever hormones are I. This are so out of whack.

I HATE IT. Put my first one on at the start of my period and within less than half an hour started feeling an intense burn and sting. Suddenly felt my emotions take a turn for the worst on an emotional roller coaster that made me laugh and cry hysterically while I struggled to pull it off with an adhesive that felt stronger than duct tape!!!

This is my second month on this Twirla patch. My doctor first prescribed me Mili, but I was not comfy taking it as it has very bad reviews on it. My first day on this patch was okay, it was the day after that hurt me. I was nauseous and unable to move, almost throwing up at some points. I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep. But that doesn't last long. Since I am on my first week in my second month, I have been experiencing light nausea spells which go away after 30, 45 mins. Otherwise I am perfectly fine. I am not sexually active so I don't know how well it protects, but I haven't felt a decrease in drive, more of an increase! Acne has gone away a little, and my last period went like a breeze! I was super heavy and it was super painful, but now I am perfectly fine. I highly recommend it if you're using it for period purposes, I don't know how well it protects against babies though! One bad thing about it though, is it comes up in long showers which I can handle. Wouldn't recommend swimming with it or taking a prolonged bath with it. Careful placing it over hair, it WAXES you!Read More Read Less

Twirla was recommended to me by a friend. I'd not come across it before. Been using it for 3 months now and works perfectly and much prefer this to the pill.

I was using xulane but i switched to twirla and because it has a lower estrogen dose. I am glad i switched less estrogen dose means less side effects. And also it is easier to remove when its time to take off.

I started Twirla a few months ago because 1: I had been on Nexplanon (had my period for almost two months straight so got it taken out) 2: Was on Depo shot for 4 years after Nexplanon and my doctor said after a few years I should switch because Depo can effect bone density after prolonged use 3: I had an IUD put in and had SEVERE pain the entire 6 months I had it in, went to go get it looked at several times, by the time I asked them to take it out, they couldn't pull it out normally because it travelled up my cervix, they had to use an ultrasound to take it out. I paid extra to have really good medicine during the extraction because of the pain of them digging around trying to find it. Now I am on Twirla, At first I had a rash and its a little itchy sometimes but havent had many problems, I will say when I take the patch off on my change day it is moist inside maybe from water getting in and not being able to get out. Hasn't affected the effectiveness of it so far. I get my cycle but it is light sometimes I don't get it at all, but I check and not pregnant. No burning, stinging, weight gain, mood swings or anything crazy. Make sure to read the directions, if you are switching over then you need to use protection for 7 days, if it falls off or you cannot change it for whatever reason for more than 24 hours then you need to use protections for 7 days, if it is not staying on for whatever reason put a new one on and replace that one on your normal patch change day etc. Just follow the directions. Was looking for an option away from the pill. Was sending my hormones way up using the pill. Doc asked me to try the new patch Twirla. Glad I did as it has me balanced way better. Perfect for me.

Switched from Xulane to Zafemy to Twirla and Twirla is the best by a landslide. Sticks great and you dont even feel it. Best on the market if you are like me and hate having to take a pill everyday.
