I have extremely heavy long periods, I've tried Iuds, multiple pills, patch ring, etc, everything made me extremely depressed, emotional, weight gain, acne, etc, if there was a symptom i had it, as a last resort my doctor recommend nextstellis, omg life changing, 2 day periods that I don't even think i can call a period, more like 2 days of spotting, I do still have cramps on day one but that's it...

I was given this pill to treat endometris and for hormonal balance after being on birth control for so long. After I decided to no longer be on birth control I noticed a dramatic change. My hormones levels became so out of whack that I did not feel normal at all. Almost like a drug addict being on the pill for so long and going cold turkey withdrawals. Its been 6 years since I've been off the pill...

I am Bipolar 2 and Borderline suffering from generalised anxiety disorder. I had to give up on these pills as they made my breast hurt very bad, made my depression very bad with extreme agitation, dark thoughts, hopelessness. I was asap disappointed in this drug as the doctor said it’s the last generation and it will be good. It was a horrible experience with crying spells and feeling crazy and guilt because I can’t get it together. Please consider alternatives if you have mental illness.

MY FACE LOOKS TERRIBLE! I’m 28 and I look like I’m going through puberty with the amount of acne I have since starting this 3 months ago. I kinda helped with my cramps/endometriosis but it’s not worth what it’s doing to my face. Plus constant spotting and low sex drive. The cons out way the pros. DO NOT USE!

Only been taking for a week and a half for peri menapause. I think I will have to stop because I am having some headaches that seem to be from this pill. I usually never get headaches. Also I am feeling more anxious, depressed, and sad/moody. I want to cry and seem to be more emotional. Nothing huge, but enough to where I don't want to continue in case it gets worse.

Ive been on this over a year and was recommended at my OBGYN. Most the time I have no period at all which is fine with me, sometimes I will randomly get one Id say maybe once every 3 or 4 months. My acne I feel is much better. Once I switched to this Birth control from my old one, I lost 45 lbs in 4 months. Pretty much balanced all my hormones out that my old BC couldnt. I would say I get some anxiety every once in awhile, but nothing crazy. DEF recommend

I’ve been taking this medication for about 3 months. For the first month my anxiety got pretty bad and I was very nauseous. However, my stomach isn’t great and lots of things can trigger my nausea. This is the first hormonal birth control I’ve ever taken. Before this, I would usually break out on my face and have very heavy periods with painful cramps. Now I maybe get a couple of pimples here and there and my cramps don’t hurt as much. I still bleed significantly though. The length of my period has stayed the same which is about 4-5 days. I have actually lost around 10 lbs. I have noticed that my cravings are very strong but I’m good at not caving in. Overall, I’ve had a good experience with this pill. However, I’m very forgetful in taking it so I have multiple alarms set up. Read More Read Less

Switched to this pill after Junel stopped preventing periods (which I was in for 5-6yrs) and I had constant light bleeding for about four months. Was very hesitant at first because my ongoing breakthrough bleeding got much worse, with heavy clotting, the first week into trying Nextstellis. However, after that first week or so, I finally stopped spotting and have been able to skip my periods since for the six months I’ve been on it - if you’re like me and prefer to avoid your period like the plague/have endometriosis, it’s a great option. The only thing it doesn’t hold up great to is high-stress; had some very, very light spotting for a few days at the end of a pack when I was stressed/traveling last week. Barely enough for a light tampon. I like that you get 3 extra active ray pills in each pack compared to other BCs. Haven’t noticed any related weight gain or skin changes, but I have always had good skin and this certainly isn’t conflicting with it. Definitely re-balanced my hormones and have had no psychological side effects, or hits to my libido. It’s actually easier for me to get aroused and lubricated compared to Junel. Great option for those like me with endometriosis that like to skip their periods every month. Only negative is that it’s not completely covered by my (really good) insurance and a 3pack is $50/month vs free as I was used to with Junel. A small price to pay to never suffer though periods again. Read More Read Less

This birth control sent me into the worst depression and anxiety ive ever experienced. Break through bleeding literally everyday for about a month. It did clear my acne and once my period regulated I barely got anything but after 4 months I literally had to stop taking it because I was constantly anxious and crying. Hated it

I love this birth control. When I first started taking it I experienced sore/tender breasts and had breakthrough bleeding. However, all this stopped on my 2nd pack. Be sure to allow your body to adjust to the pills. Currently, I have no symptoms. Also, my periods are now only 3 days.

I've been on this for 2 weeks, and I don't like it. I have endometriosis and PCOS. I've had no sex drive my face has broken out worse than normal during my period time frame, I haven't even received my period since I've been on this pill, my weight is dramatically increasing when I was just to the point of being happy with my weight. I can't sleep, I am constantly hungry. I do not recommend this with such a big change all at once. every one always says to give it time but i am becoming mentally unhappy with myself do to this pill.Read More Read Less

I was recommended this BC by my new gyno. Said it was all natural and better for me. I’ve been on it for way too long and am just now starting to realized how bad my side effects are. In the beginning it was fine but now I’m developing pretty bad blood clots and my acne is gradually getting worse to the point where I have cystic acne all over my face. My anxiety has worsened which could stem from different situations but I am constantly sad and have 0 energy to do anything. Let’s just say I’m in search for a new BC. Hope this helps. I started nextstellis to prevent pregnancy and to see if it could help regulate my periods. I’ve learned that it takes 3 months for the body to regulate and get used to birth control. I began taking it in November of 2022 and I could no longer take the medication. It caused me to bleed every two weeks for a week at a time. During the month lf march 2023 I was bleeding for three weeks straight. It was a mix of heavy bleeding and spotting. I didn’t get any weight gain or mood swings. But it has not helped to regulate my period if anything it made it worse because I’m bleeding every two weeks for a week or more at a time. It’s been six months since I’ve been taking nextstellis and nothing has improved everything’s gotten worse.I switched birth controls and I start my new medication tomorrow I suggest you all do the same. I tried Nextsellis to regulate heavy bleeding for a month. It worked well in that I had no spotting or bleeding during the active pills, but it gave me nausea and stomach pain so intense that I had to stop after the first month.

Gave 5 stars for effectiveness because I didn't get pregnant. I went on this medication for pregnancy prevention and to treat painful, heavy periods. In return, I actually bled MORE than when I wasn't on the pill. I would get a period every 2 weeks and it would last at least 12 days. Not sure if the mood swings I experienced were from the pill or the constant PMS state that I was in. Also was constantly hungry. Gained 20 lbs and I have never gained weight on any birth control method ever.

I was prescribed nextstellis for my acne, this is my first time ever on bc. I started this pill beginning of Nov 2022, first week of December I was spotting for a week and a half, on Dec 26 I got my period and it was normal, it lasted 5 days. Ps my whole life I’ve had regular periods, i got my period every 27 days and I had a normal flow (never experienced heavy flow) after getting my period in December 2022 I got it again, 2 weeks later on Jan 13 and I’m still bleeding… it’s been 11 days. My flow is also way heavier than normal, I’m a bit concerned if I should switch but I recently saw my doctor and he said prolonged periods are normal in the first few months and to continue using it. So I’m gonna give it a month to see how I feel but if these heavy prolonged periods continue I will switch to something else. On the bright side my acne has cleared up.Read More Read Less

I have PCOS. Not only have I lost weight and not had acne or mood issues like other pills. I’m not having breakthrough bleeding either! My periods have become MUCH less painful and lighter! I used to use super tampons 3+ days of a 7 day period and now I have a 3 day period and only use light tampons. Drink your water!!

Breathrough bleeding occurred the first 4 months, and I thought it was gonna be a deal breaker but let your body adjust. Since then, I have a normal sex drive, no crazy bleeding, and my moods dont swing like they did on other pills. Would recommend besides initial adjusting period.

I’ve been on this birth control for 2 months and I had to discontinue it. I was diagnosed with PCOS and I’ve been taking birth control for over 10 years so I know my body. However, this pill the first month I took it I noticed a new onset of period cramps when I wasn’t on my period (weird). I did notice an alarming amount of discharge throughout the last two months that I thought I had a yeast infection and normally I’m not a dischargey gal. On the 2nd month I experienced worse than normal period cramps daily after the first week of starting the pack again. I wouldn’t recommend this pill for someone that has PCOS because the normal cramping is already very uncomfortable and this pill intensified cramps I usually don’t have. Only good thing about this pill is my appetite did decrease but I was just bloated all the time because of the cramping and enlargement of my uterus.Read More Read Less

I am going to continue to try the natural way with vitamins and search for the right place to get me balanced without taking pharmaceuticals. Reading some of the reviews and side effects It deterred me away , suicidal ideation is not something I would want as a side effect. Read More Read Less
