My mother has been taking Exelon since it was introduced to the market. Over 15 yrs. of taking Exelon has allowed her to maintain a good lifestyle. I always recommend Exelon to anyone who is affected by the Alzheimer's.

I thought My Mom was towards the end of life. Hospice now coming to house the excelon patch script ran out. After 2 weeks without the patch she is walking better, not falling asleep all day and talking. ( we do not understand what she is saying still ) . Would not recommend it at all.

Exelon patch can be a death sentence. Have pharmacist check for all interactions with other drugs being taken. This drug is a bad choice for anyone with heart problems, or on heart medications. Your doctor will probably not tell you the severe risks possible with this drug.

started on Exelon due to increased memory loss, dosage gradually increased to 1.3 mg twice a day. Improvement in memory, concentration noted by family for 3 months then stopped. In December my neurologist increase dosage to 3mg 3 times a day so hopefully this will work again. my oonly problems were nausea an d insomnia. nausea was helped by taking with food.

My mother and my father both took this patch; different dosages for years. My father passed away, but my mom is still taking it. She tried to use up my father's dosages 9.5 mg, but it made her hallucinate, flu symptoms, etc. Changed back to lower dosage and doing fine. Only side effect, is the redness and sometimes itchiness of the skin after removing patch. Using alcohol wipes have made those problems disappear.

I use Exelon for Narcolepsy. It helps me just as much as stimulants, if not better!
