36 yr old male. T level below 300. I am only 36 but felt 66. I had no energy, depressed, no sex drive and horrible sweating episodes. Once we found out what was going on I was put on Androgel. I noticed it the 1st day. I was, and am still amazed with it. I feel like a new person. I have so much energy, great mood all of the time and my sex drive is back! This is an awesome product.

This is a very dangerous drug.Currently being advertised on TV and other places as the answer to every mans problem. No side effects are mentioned and it has many! Was given to me WITHOUT blood tests. Appears men are the next hormonal science experiment as women were years ago. How many cancers and other health related issues must happen before the severity of the drug revealed. No side effects wh...

I am 65 and thanks to my incompetent doctors I have nearly died twice. I was on 300mcgs of Fentynal for over 10yrs running while at the same time I was on 750 mgrms of Hydrocodone/ at the same time. I have been told to many times that I should've died. A doctor from Johns Hopkins came to Calif to meet me when he heard about what I was going thru and told my wife and I should be dead. He figured I had been at zero testosterone for over 4 yrs minimum. I am on Suboxone now and I am on an Androgel pump. I have not had any sex drive in 15yrs easily. No wood. I just wish I could go to sleep and not wake up. I don't believe in suicide but I pray God would let me go to sleep and not ever wake up. My wife ignores the situation. She has never been sexual anyway. She is no help. No one cares. No one cares. I have no energy and the only way I can sleep is with Melatonin or CBD Gummies.Read More Read Less

My issue is low testosterone due to side effects of Adderall. Adderall has lowered my testosterone levels. Even when levels are normal, my body acts like they are below normal and raises estrogen sensitivity. I take the max dose of 4 pumps per day. It makes a difference but barely. Not what I was hoping for. Worst thing is, a while back they screwed with the market sending prices sky high and was too much to pay for with a high deductible insurance plan. So I stopped taking it. Result was I had NO energy or motivation, napping several times a day. Sex drive also dropped. Far far more than if I had never taken testosterone meds. My body must try to counter the medication by decreasing my natural levels even farther to get to what it thinks is the homeostatic levels (opponent process). Took a few months to get back to my regular low levels. If I stop taking it again, I will have to gradually reduce the dosage over a few months and not just stop outright. So if your testosterone issues are also due to the side effects of other medications, understand that it may not be the same as naturally low levels due to other reasons if you keep taking the offending medication. I hope you have better results than I have. Issue with testosterone therapy is the endocrine system is vastly complex and many things affect many other things so just addressing a single one of them (testosterone) may not be enough to solve the issue. On a side note: I wish webmd would not allow the changing of focus away from the text box when a new ad displays at the top of the page. It is frustrating when you have to click back in the text box because text stops showing up every few seconds.Read More Read Less

Do not use this unless there is a real reason. My doctor used a single Free-T test when other Total-T tests came back normal. Then he raised the dose to 3.5 packs a day. It was as if I was an experiment for him. My personality changed into an ego manic, and my blood became very thick (hematocrit hit 55%). The truth is I never had low T, and even after an endocrinologist questioned the doctor, he didn't blink.

Testosterone injections work great with bloood work every 3-6 months. The gel basically does nothing for me. I have tried it for 6-12 months on 5 occasions with my testosterone level dropping under 200. The injection I notice a huge difference in 3 days.

I'm 62 and have been on Androgel for 5 years. I was originally exhibiting the symptoms of low testosterone, and my physician decided that after testing to confirm this, he would place me on Androgel. My life has turned around, my energy level is back, sex life is back, my workouts in the gym are at high level, and my mind is clear and sharp.

I have been using AndroGel to maintain testosterone levels at around 750 for 19 years with good results and no side effects. My urologist checks my PSA and prostate every 6 months and they remain normal for my age (80 yrs). Libido and energy levels are still very good.

After leukemia my blood tests were showing a very low T level, what prompted the use of Androgel was depression. The Androgel seemed to lift this after a week or 2 of use, now I have to stop because of my PSA level which is rising and is one of the side effects. Hopefully things will work out.

Lost 10 pounds. Morning erections with penis pointing to the sky (like when I was 20). Now able to have more than 2 orgasms and ejaculations from a single encounter. Gel is slightly messy. Mood better (per wife).

Most of the gel stayed on my hands. Not being a very large person, I do not have sufficient skin surface to spread it on.

Husband considers androgel a wonder drug as it has increased his energy, accelerated healing of a bum shoulder and improved his athletic results. Wife hates it as it has brought out the 'inner jerk' in husband: he is more combative, more aggressive towards wife, quick to anger, less likely to compromise. The drug has visibly exacerbated tension in the marriage. If you are married, do not disregard the negative effects taking this drug may have on your relationship with your wife.

I'm 53, started the 1.62 packets about mid Nov 2014. (20.25 dosage) Had some ankle swelling, but had also walked a lot on our trip to Hawaii. Was feeling good and even backed off of my Vivanse (for ADD). Was starting to not feel as good as I had at first. Had my levels tested Mid Feb 2015, and found them to be lower than when I was without treatment. Doc wants to move up my dosage, and actually was using 2 packets for a while...I seem to be getting worse. Tired a lot, don't want to get out of bed, have to push very hard to keep exercising and really don't feel that much better after. Foggy brain coming back, shrinking sex drive, as well as sex tool, etc. Don't think I'll do the increased dosage. very expensive for nothing. I'd rather go back on shots, even if I have to do them myself...feeling pretty desperate.Read More Read Less

Male 51. Initial T-level 220. Beware, initial effectiveness rapidly dissappeared after 3 months. Initial prescription daily level temporarily raised T-level from 220 to 420 at my 1 month blood test, but then after 3 months at same AndroGel level next blood test showed T-level dropped to 200. Dr. about doubled AndroGel prescription which temporarily raised level to 400, but then again dropped back to about 250 after another coupled months. Switched to IM weekly injections of Testosterone Cypionate which REALLY works well. Its my understanding that the loss of effectiveness of AndroGel is caused by the skin (epidermis) layer developing over time an increased ability to convert AndroGel to a form of estrogen, which is not good for guys to have elevated. Injections bypass skin layer so no loss of effectiveness of treatment over time. I'm now maintaining a constant high 500 range. I really question that research on AndroGel's effectiveness over time. Age 66. On Androgel for 8 yrs. due to zero testosterone production. Energy and libido increased at first then gradually diminished. in May 2014 I had two brain hemorrhages and while in hospital it was discovered that my legs were both full of blood clots. I had eight doctors taking care of me for weeks and kept hearing medical personnel mentioning the fact that I had been taking Androgel. I was taken off Androgel therapy by the ER doctor when first arriving at hospital. The brain bleeds happened out of the blue. I had not had any injury to my head or any other body part. When I asked individual doctors if they think my situation was caused by the Androgel, they just say "I don't know" but they were all adamant about getting me off the T therapy. Now, I have to take blood thinner for blood clots in my legs, at the same time there is always the fear of having another brain bleed. This has been a life changing incident for me and my family. If I could have a do-over I would skip the Androgel.Read More Read Less

My husband has been using AndroGel for about 6-8 weeks now, his sex drive has increased slightly and he claims that he feels like he has more energy but the tradeoff is that he is easily agitated, quick to anger, overreacts to things, and exhibits paranoia. For instance, he tracks me on my Iphone and falsely accuses me of things and when I try to defend myself, he doesn’t believe me. Like the other day, he said I gave a piece of fried chicken he got me from the store, "a dirty look" and totally got mad at me for in a way I didn’t deserve. Oh and he’s also extremely harsh in his sarcasm and when I call him on it, he just says, “deal with it!!” or “find your sense of humor”. Yeah, he's a REAL JOY to be around!!! Is there something that the drug makers of AndroGel can give me to put up with his mood swings and irritability???? Read More Read Less
