I’m a huge baby when it comes to any sort of pain which made me a little hesitant to try this injectable version of PrEP. However, it does not hurt getting the medication injected to me the bloodwork hurts more. the only downside is yes, having to go to the doctors office every two months to have the medication injected however, the convenience that it has saved me from having to worry about taking a daily medication that I would miss often and be fed with anxiety because of missing the first I’d say three doses or injections. Definitely took a little time for me and my body to get used to. I'm diabetic and had concerns about harm to my kidneys and Apretude apparently isn't like the other options known for kidney problems or bone loss. I am asking my Dr because after each injection I get a severe cough and congestion even if not a listed side effect it is a concern. I am also experiencing muscle soreness and this is a listed side effect but hopefully it will be manageable. I wish it was self injectable as I don't like having to go for an office visit but hopefully over time it will even out.Read More Read Less
