Administered via IV. Caused itching and redness of the cheeks. Side efects reduced with Benadryl via IV.

Was being treated for pseudomonas aeruginosa via IV for 14 consecutive days. At the end of the 14 days, a urine sample culture indicated it was cleared up. A second urine sample 7 days later, showed that it had returned. Have completed six of another 14 days of amikacin via IV.
