I was started on this when it was trial. It helped me speak and remember almost at once. I was on an other drug and it did not work at all.

My mother received a prescription for this drug(Reminyl), and took it for several days in early 2005. Within a couple of days of taking the drug, she became totally dis-oriented and psychotic. She forgot who she was, as well as who her family members were. In her total confusion, she thought that I was her late husband (my father), and wondered why I left her for another woman (my wife). My mother took this drug and it made her go from regular person to full dementia in a few weeks. The nurse at the hospital said he had seen it before, so we took her off of it to see. A couple weeks later she was somewhat better, and after a year, she was mostly better. Even years later though she is weakened from it.

My mother has taken Reminyl for two and a half years and I do believe it is keeping her from becoming incontentant. Her memory is severally impaired only remembering anything from 60 years ago.
