I love Yasmin!! I didn't gain any weight, my face is super clear, it's easy to use and i didn't get any side effects like breast tenderness, etc. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I would advise any young woman NOT to take this pill. I almost died taking it with the uncommon side effects. I was diagnosed with pulmonary embolisms, pneumonia and pulmonary hypertension within 2 months of taking this pill. when i was prescribed Yasmin, no steps were taken to ensure I would stop smoking, loose weight etc, it was a 5 minute appointment with my gp and I was sent on my way. I have been taking yasmin for two months. I just realized it was more than likely the reason for my severe mood swings, breast tenderness, anxiety and heart palpatations. It did clear up my skin and I did not get pregnant, but I cannot handle the side effects.

I have been taking Yasmin for 5 years. I started taking for heavy periods. I am not taking it anymore. Bad headaches, anxiety, mood swings contact lenses bother me and just feeling awful. I don't know what will happen, as far as the heavy bleeding, if it will return.

Began taking it due to very heavy periods caused by uterine fibroids - only about 8 pills away from finishing my first pack so I don't know if it has helped with my period or not yet, but side effects that I have noticed so far are very noticeable breast enlargement (they were tender, but not so much anymore) and severe erratic anger emotions. The mood swings are really scaring me to the point that I may quit taking this med. Will give it some more time tho and see...

My PCP switched me to this after sudden on-set of sever PMS with Zovia (extreme erratic rages and depression). Never experienced PMS before, but as I am approaching 40 and had a baby 3 yrs ago everything is changing!!! This BCP made the mood swings worse, instead of 3-4 days on the previous pill now it is a couple weeks(3rd and 4th weeks of the pills). Yesterday it was like someone flipped an emotional switch and everything was happy and good at work and in my family again. The scary thing about the PMS, I have no control and thinking back cannot remember all my outbursts. Calling my PCP this morning to change pills.Read More Read Less

I was only on Yasmin for one month, 1 week and at the end of my first pack I got heart palpatations and night sweats while on the reminder pills. I blew it off but stopped the medication after the 5th day of the second pack because I again had the heart palpatations, sweats and extreme indigestion and I finally 'blacked out' in a crowded room and thus I no longer take Yasmin. Doctor put me on Alesse, a ver-low-dose BC pill, so we will see!

I have been on this off and on for 5 years. In the last 6 months however, the headaches are almost unbearable when on the placebo pills. Also, causing some nausea lately and bad bad mood swings. Periods are short though and cramping is minimal.

I switched to Yasmin after taking Mircette because Mircette was not covered by my health insurance. I immediately began to experience a very heavy vaginal discharge for which my doctor could not find an explanation. I requested another pill after approx. 6 months, and that did the trick. My doctor did not suggest it - that was me grasping at straws to end a side effect that I wish my doctor had some knowledge of.

I took this pill for about 2 1/2 to 3 years, and it was ok. My periods were regular, lighter and shorter. No problems with headaches, acne, cramping, or weight gain. Actually I lost about 20 pounds on this pill. However, even though I took this pill religiously, I now have a beatiful 1 yr. old little boy!!

I am a 41 y.o. female with uterine fibroids. I took Yaz to control uterine bleeding. Worked great. Quality of life better. Blood pressure issues arose. Had to stop taking it.

Yasmin made my moods erratic and uncontrollable. Everything else about it was great- less acne, better periods, etc.

I've been on it for 3.5 years with no need to switch brands, etc as can happen with long-term use. Oh, and I haven't gotten pregnant which is kinda the point :-)

I love how the pills are so small I can take them without water. It has made a huge difference during that time, I have very little pain (from severe pain), very light flow for a few days (from heavy for over a week), and my PMDD symptoms are gone. I wish this was available years ago!

I have PCOS and I have had very irregular periods in the past Yasmin has really helped me with that. I am hoping after I lose some more weight that I may be able to get pregnant.

I have PCOS. This has been the only birth control to minimize my cysts and decrease my abdominal pain. They have tried so many different kinds of birth control and this one definitely works. It is also the only one that has not caused weight gain. I've actually lost 35 pounds. I have been taking Yasmin 28 for about 5 years and now I'm going to ask my doctore about Yaz. Seems like they have only improved on a good thing.

I have only been taking Yaz for 1 month but I have noticed a change in my acne. It has not prevented further breakouts yet but has been helpful in making it less noticable and less painful.
