Using (Rx) for both arthritis/joint damage and Peripheral Neuropathy. It works very well for me, both after things get painful, and as a preventative. It helps me avoid Ophiods, and is more effective, in my experience. Use exam gloves to apply, bought by the box-of-100 from auto parts stores. Use on foot and knee, usually not more than twice a day, although the literature says up to 4 times a da...

Use on foot and knee, usually not more than twice a day, although the literature says up to 4 times a day. Physician told me the topical application results in very little reaching the blood stream, and therefore very little reaching the liver. The ammonia smell dissipates quickly. You don't want to get it onto broken skin or a cut.Read More Read Less

Been applying ointment (it's like vaseline w/ a mild, mint-ish scent) for about 6 now. I suffer from chronic pain. Elhers Danlos type 3 and osteoarthritis. After applying ointment to the areas I feel the pain in my knees, legs and feet, I feel some relief and it brings my pain from a 6 to a five. Sometimes it works better than other times, but I always feel a measurable difference. Even if it is small. Albeit, it never provides a large difference, I'm glad to have it in my arsenal. Worth a try. Easy to use. Note that it is an ointment and does not absorb into the skin completely. Hand washing is necessary after use. Doesn't taste very good. Read More Read Less

I had Morton's neuroma in my foot. The podiatrist prescribed this to relieve the pain. I found it did nothing for me. I ended up having surgery for the Morton's neuroma and am recovering - he said to use it for the pain I'm experiencing after the surgery. I find it doesn't help and the risks outweigh the benefits, if any.

I have had knee problems several years - osteoarthrosis of the knees. Tried injections to help reduce the swelling however it was short term. Started using this twice a day and within 2 weeks I could tell a difference in my knees, reduced swelling and able to walk most days without pain. I have had no side effects and I am extremely sensitive to medication.

After using only one-third of this one prescription, I stopped applying due to less than normanl bowel movements. It may be useful for some but as I review other comments I would not recommend it.

Took the topical for bursitis in the hip area and groin pain. Had multple stomach issues. Stopped using after 1 day. I didn't realize it was the same medication I had taken orally a few months prior prescribed by another dr and gave me the same side effects.

I had "golfers elbow" ; the PA gave me a 20g tube of VoltarenGel and after 2-3 days the pain was gone. I also had total knee replacement recently; the only area that really still hurt was where they tied the tendon back on. The pain and inflamation really lessoned after a few nights of use. It worked foe me! Allen Rienhardt, Syracuse, NY

Helped only to mitigate severe pain and swelling in both knees due to osteoarthritis, but caused such severe diarrhea and chest congestion that I have had to stop taking Arthrotec and am looking for an alternative. Any ideas? I was on 75 mg dosage with meals twice a day.
