I use this very occasionally. Hard to access effectiveness, but seems to help stomach ache, bloating. My concern is PRICE. Last year, it cost 10.86. Now, just over a year later, 48.83, over 4 times as much. How can this possibly be? If this is what drug companies are doing, how can they justify screwing the public so blatently? Is there something I don't know here? Please, if anybody has answers? ...

I used to take this it's the best drug for. Ibs I could not find it for awhile but found the generic. Just ordered it. It's the only drug that works for me. Bentyl works sometimes. Please make it available. ??

One of the few drugs that work. Now my insurance won't pay for it. I was prescribed Lotronex and wound up in Hospital for severe blockage in my intestines.Only to find out later that it was recalled, and that people died from it.Why is this so expensive and why doctors won't prescribe and insurance won't pay for it. When it is proven to work for people. Some of these new drugs are dangerous. If you have IBS-D the one drug they prescribe, if you have no gallbladder like I don't have one YOU CAN'T USE IT.So what are people to do. I wish someone could let me know what to use. Bentyl only work sometimes. The librex was the only drug that worked for me. We have to suffer while drug companies inflate prices.Read More Read Less

When the company jacked the price times X7 I switched to a combination of chlordiazapoxide and dicyclmine. Works great. I think it might be a generic librex.

I have taken this prescribed med for over 40 yrs and have had no problem until recently when reaching Medicare which will not cover this prescription. I too am astounded at price increases since I have to pay full price. Some drugs stores simply say the drug is no longer available in US. Is there any alternatives available.

Worked fine for many years. New MD reluctant to prescribe. Would like to find a "non-controlled substance" as a replacement. Not having much luck. Ins. Co. won't pay. Best info ever, show your AAA card. They give a great discount at most pharmacies. Insist; some don't know

I've had IBS since I was in high school and have been on a number of different medications. This works as well as anything I've tried so far. Previous meds caused more drowsiness, dry mouth, blurred vision and other side effects while needing to be taken more frequently. I started out taking this only when I had an episode of abdominal cramps. It would stop the cramps, but it would take a couple of days for me to feel normal again. Now I generally take it twice every day, and it helps prevent the episodes from ever occuring. My only issues with this medication are: 1. It seems more difficult for me to wake up in the morning if I take it just before going to bed. I don't have a lot of drowsiness in general, but it really knocks me out at night. 2. The extreme heat seems to bother me more when I'm active outside in the summer. I tend to get dehydrated faster and more frequently. I don't remember seeing this listed as a side effect, but I don't know what else would be causing it and am aware that similar meds do cause dehydration. Overall, my life is better with it than without it...Read More Read Less

I have taken this medicine for about 2 years. I seems to work extremely well (at controlling upset stomach and colon) most of the time. My insurance company changed and refused to cover the cost of the medicine. Even though the cost of chlordiapoxide-clidinium is not covered by my insurance, the effectiveness makes me willing to pay for the drug because it simply works. The biggest problem with this drug is eventually, it causes such constipation, that you will have to take a laxative often.Read More Read Less

After taking for 4 weeks kept wondering why i'd get so sleepy during the day then decided to read up on how others did. Now i understand the sleepiness but tried to not take the meds for a day and had to continue but it works when you take it as prescribed. Already had one surgery trying to avoid another one just don't like taking pills everyday!

Drug made me sleepy....reduced sex drive and ability to concentrate. When taken before bed, it produced extreme weird dreams and I awoke every three hours. Suggest taking it during the day 30 minutes before eating anything or it is not effective. Do not drink alcohol as recommended

My IBS went away very quickly after I started. I was taking the dose recommended, sometimes less if I could but never more than the maximum. Within a few weeks of bliss I noticed I had problems concentrating. I found it very difficult to work. This is a well-know problem of chronic benzodiazepine treatment (chlordiazepoxide is one such drug, valium is another). Before starting the treatment I told my gastroenterologist I worried about this side effect and he reassured the drug is mild and the dose is low. It's not. I miss the beneficial effects but cannot afford to have my brain gone. Read More Read Less
