Liquid diarrhea for 4 weeks now. 2.5 weeks ago began bland fiber-filled diet. No change. 1.5 weeks ago began using Immodium-still no change. Saw dr. & he prescribed this drug 5 days ago-still no change! Trapping me at home-afraid to leave the house-accidents at night. Never had anything like this before. Now doing analysis on samples taken in today! Very frustrating since I've got 2 job interviews coming up & am afraid this might keep me from them when I desparately need to get a job! After taking this drug for 3 days as directed, my B/P dropped to 84/52 with a pulse rate of 118. I decided to stop taking it without notifying my dr. (it's Saturday and they are difficult to contact). I have also temporarily stopped taking my BP meds. I don't know if this drug is responsible for the lower BP readings because there is nothing in the side effects supplied by the pharmacy that would indicate this kind of adverse reaction.

This Rx did help to slow my diarrhea incidents but did not stop it entirely. I am still working with my MD to solve my daily chronic diarrhea.

didn't work; still experiencing heavy diaheria; no solidification of stools; last night went three times in space of 20 minutes, but was abnle to get a good nights sleep after that.Thiks morning, arose of 6am but no movement until 9am--then heavy liquid flow.

This is the second medication I have tried to combat my symptoms, and by far this is the easiest and I don't have any side effects. Only problem I have is a hard time swallowing my food due to the slowing of the digestive tract.

Excellent at doing what is supposed to do, stop diarrhea. But it makes me very sleepy, and i would not drive or get on ladders if i were you.

Taken for cryptosporidia aquired on a camping trip in MT back country. Very effective, no side effects, works w/1 dose q.24h, in conjunction with ABX trpy. I am also a RRT/RCVT/PMT.

It sure helps control Diarrhea why I'm taking alot of meds,

relaxes nervis stomack made me feel much better.

My conditions got worse with the use of this drug. I did better with over the counter Imodium

It has worked for me. My only question is does it tend to cause weight gain and have a larger stomach even though my food consumption is less than it was in the past.

It works great just leaves dry mouth while sleeping,but i can leave this.

this has worked wonders. My doctor told me its important to find the right maintenace dose that works for me.

It stops the problem of diarrhea I have some side effects of dry mouth so I drink a lot of water or chew gum most of the time.

I have IBS and had diarrhea with extreme pain nearly everyday. This has done wonders for me sine the very first dose. It relieves the pain within 5-10 minutes sometimes less, and always prevents the diarrhea. I could barely function to work let alone go to a movie before having this dream medication. I strongly suggest talking to your doctor about this medication if you have pain or diarrhea prominent IBS. Also since starting this medication the 'episodes' went from nearly everyday to maybe 3 times a week. I only take a dose when needed.Read More Read Less

I use this medication on an "as needed" basis for IBS symptoms. This medication has allowed me to continue to hold down a job and to be able to go out in public without the concern of having to constantly run to the bathroom. I could not funtion without this medication!
