My 10yr old daughter went to the emergency room having severe back pain, the nurse gave her an injection containing meperidine 50mg & promethazine 25 mg to ease her pain so they could do a CT scan. The shot calmed her for abt 30mins then she went bk to screaming. They then gave her a vicodin tablet & 30 mins later abt midnight she was asleep. 6 am she wakes up drenched in sweat and runs fever for the 3 days, mean while she's still suffering from back pain & now weakness in her leg muscles this is when I notice a red swollen area around the injection site. Over the next few days the spot begins to almost look like a blister so she goes bk to dr and they put her on antibiotics, the spot eventually rupters and drains for 2weeks. She is now receiving phyical therapy for the weakness in her legs & has a scar on her rear. The dr says it's all because of this injection she received at the hospital.Read More Read Less
