I use if for B/P. I noticed right away that my shortness of breath decreased significantly and the swelling in my ankles went away (from amlodipine). Was skeptical at first as I am an anti-med taker but I'm happy with this.

My Pharmacy continues to give me three different types of Triamterene-HCTZ 37.5-25MG.One is a yellow/green cap one is a white/black cap and one is a green tablet. Are these medications the same ?

Been using almost six months. Reduced swelling in my ankles, but caused fatigue and impotence. Going to tell the doctor to find something else.

After 4 days I do nothing but wake up and run to the bathroom all night, sometimes I make it in time, sometimes I don't. If extremely exhausted and sleeping very hard I have wet the bed, twice. I refuse to take this more than twice a week, and I am looking for another solution to swelling in my ankles.

Took for three years and developed severe tendonitis in feet (alternating) appx every 3 mos. Since I am very athletic utilizing swimming, tennis, bicycling and jogging I simply thought aging had caught up with me. Doctor finally said he thought it was drug interaction. So after having podiatrist make foot insoles and discontinuing drug, no problems. The drug is a sulfa drug and I am allergic to sulfa drugs. Also got leg cramps at night.

This medication has been absolutely life changing. I have heart conditions, as well as Essential Benign Hypertension. I have been living with Edema that has been so bad that when I press into my legs, the dents are so so deep and they stay for so long. Even wearing the lightest cotton socks (non-binding) would leave a line on my mid-ankle where they were. Since taking this medication, week 1 there was a drastic difference. I have now been on it a month and I wouldn't change it for the world. My hands don't swell, the dents that I could make...I can no longer make! I do check and press and there are still shallow dents but they are SO shallow and the skin returns to normal so much faster. I feel like I have some control over what is happening inside my body with these conditions I have. To be able to walk around without the heavy pressure feeling in my lower front calves and my legs and hands don't swell and become sore. It has been so many years living like that that I can't remember what it was like to be any other way. I hope to remain on this medication indefinitely.Read More Read Less

Some initial fatigue, but that went away after two weeks. Biggest side effect has been large loss of hair on my head within the first two weeks of taking drug. Hair loss continued for about 4 weeks. Seems to have stopped, but my barber noticed hair loss immediately. I do not know if this is just because of shock of change of HBP meds, or the drug itself. Also, side effect of extremely dry skin all over my body.

I've been on this med for 15 years. My sex drive is gone forever. If you stop taking it for a few days you will get severe leg cramps. Now I have dry mouth and my taste buds are fading. I think it's time to change to something else. Although my BP has been controlled very well.

I started with a 27.5 pill and change doctors since I move and she up the prescription to 75.50mg. They want me to take daily and I was told to take it as needed from the first prescriber doctor and keep water fluids in your body because the water pills absorb your body fluids. I experience severe cramping and shortness of breath for a moment. I then prescribe and additive pill lisinopril 10mg. I had bad cough beginning. I fear taking these chemicals but I have to follow doctors orders. I was also told that to keep yourself for going down from internal organs defects to drink a beer to help balance your kidneys against infections. It helps a whole lot. The medications do make me drowsy. I may seek another new doctor next year.Read More Read Less
