Just because I did read so many 'bad' reviews when I started Sertraline.. I feel I owe the world my positive experience : ) My day to day life has changed from a constant battle to a breeze. Now I finally feel my normal self again, I realise how anxious and depressed I was. I am a intelligent high functioning person that still got by on shear will power. I have been taking it 2 months and only ...

Sertraline is the only anti-depressive that does not contribute to constipation. I find that bowel movements are small, but frequent thoughout the day. This is much better than the chronic constipation I experienced while using other drugs in this class. It has been very effective in treating my long-term depression.

I take Sertraline for multiple symptoms, mainly OCD, Panic Attacks, and severe Anxiety. I have to take a very high dosage, and must take it regularly without ever missing a dose for it to work on a continuous basis. I've been lax, at times, in my treatment, and it can take up to six to eight weeks to rebuild the chemicals in my systom to be therapeudic again. This can be a miserable time; therefore, I try diligently to take this medication without interuption. It is extremely effective on my OCD, and Anxiety. It has all but eliminated my Panic Attacks, although, it hasn't totally eradicated them. My best experience, I must reiterate, is the persistent continuity of regular medication dosaging of Sertraline along with any other prescribed medications. Read More Read Less

I started taking it because i would snap at people and be really mean. You could definitely tell a difference. I stopped taking it though, because i dont like having to take something at the same time everyday.

I took to treat depression not knowing I had bipolar disorder. It triggered manic episodes, I had countless panic attacks, and in three days I had started cutting myself and wound up in a mental ward. Whenever I went to my dr complaining, they upped my dose. Be careful if you have bipolar, this medication almost killed me.

Zoloft has made my life manageable. I have been on it for 4 years. I am now able to keep an "even keel" with life changes (parents moving over 1000 miles away, 3 teenagers/young adults, menopause). I call it my "happy pill". Though sometimes I need alittle extra help with an "as needed pill". Even my OCD has improved.

The medication worked well until I tried to go off. I feel awful and it gives me a "gel" feeling in my head. It is terrible. I still haven't figured out a way to get off this medication. Even when I cut back gradual it still gives me that feeling.

Coming off of Zoloft is terrible. I am angry that I was ever started on this drug.

After using Zoloft for just so long, it seems to lose it's effectiveness and I am in a constant state of depression. The max. dose is 200mg, but some have suggested going off label and taking a higher dose. Is that really safe??? I have also tried numerous other antidepressants over the last 25years.

I have used Zoloft for 12 years. In the first few years, I had several of the side effects, but they did go away. I am very satisified with Zoloft.

As soon as I was switched, I noticed a difference within a week. It wasn't nearly as effective for me.

Zoloft (literally) gave me back my life! It's SO nice to no longer be plagued with thoughts of worthlessness or suicide. I tried Prozac and Welbutrin, but neither worked for me. This product truly saved my life AND my relationship with others.

A relative killed himself due to this drug. BE VERY CAREFUL! He was doing great on Wellbutrin but was switched over to this due to insurance issues. He had not been suidical. He was on antidepressant medication due to depression from acute chronic pain.
