My husband was prescribed this medication by a VA nurse-practioner in the Pain Clinic at James Haley VA Hospital in Tampa, Florida. She prescribed it as a pain medication. After reading on this site that this medication should only be prescribed for controlling seizures because it can cause seizures in people who have never had them, I was appalled that this nurse-practioner endangered my husband....

My husband was prescribed this medication by a VA nurse-practioner in the Pain Clinic at James Haley VA Hospital in Tampa, Florida. She prescribed it as a pain medication. After reading on this site that this medication should only be prescribed for controlling seizures because it can cause seizures in people who have never had them, I was appalled that this nurse-practioner endangered my husband. Obviously, he has discontinued using this medication (it had no effect on his pain & now we know why!). I have filed a complaint against this individual for other reasons but will be filing another one for her incompetence in this matter. She is obviously a dangerous person!
