Where oral pain medicines have failed, this nasal spray works quickly to block the pain and let me sleep off my migraine. It's the most effective treatment I've used and doesn't require a trip to the Doctor's office or ER for treatment. Having this medicine available has greatly reduced the amount of time my migraines last. Before, using hydrocodone for the pain, I would have to take numerous dose...

Took it 5 or 6 times, always when in bed. Maybe an hour of relief then 3 hours of jumpiness, heart pounding, and very itchy nose in addition to original symptoms. Was directed to take it as last resort (if Maxalt didn't work) so might work better taken at onset of migraine but I'm afraid to try it again.

I have used this drug for 10 years for menstural cramps. I usually end up in the ER about 3 times a year, but if I can get this drug in me in time the ER is not needed. There has only been 1 time that this drug did not help me at all, even after taking a double dose.

This the only medication I have found that helps me with the Big bad Migraine. But i have to agree with the other person that post about hating to get this refilled. It almost causes me a headache, they treat me as if im a drug seeker. Its horrible. But The truth is Ive sufferd with these headaches for about 15 yrs, and still do, I take topamax, midrin, stadol Ns, and a few more....but Im still hoping to find a better way, this is not a good life to have.

I have been dealing with migraines since I was 8 years old. The problem I have always faced is that once i start taking something that helps, within a few months, it quits working. My Doctor prescribed this for me about 4 or 5 months ago and it's wonderful. Still helping all the way. My only problem is that I can't take cough syrups, or have pills touch my tongue because the taste makes me throw up. The first few times I took this I did throw up right away. Now instead of a full spray in the nostril that I'm going to use, i only pump it half-way and it seems to help. And I follow it immediately with a couple of sips of Coke with maybe a piece of candy or something because the taste is so bad. But I will take this taste anyday over having to lay in bed for days and cry or go to the ER because I'm hurting so bad. This has been a life-saver for me.Read More Read Less

After trying every migraine medication available with no success, severe alergic reaction to Imitrex and numerous trips to the ER my doctor prescribed this and it is a lifesaver for me. I really hated how it made me feel the first few times until I got used to what to expect. I agree the taste isn't the best but no comparison to suffering the pain of a migraine. Phenergan helps with nausea but be prepared to sleep a while.

I have had migraines for the past 11 years. When I first started getting the headaches I ended up in the emergency room with a knock out shot. This medicine has helped me not only get rid of the migraine but stay out of the E.R. The taste is nasty, but I will take that over the headache anytime.

I have found this drug very resourceful. I have had migraines for over 20 years now and have taken every type of narcotic on the market. I normally have to take a 2nd spray after about on hour from the first one. And it normally works within 15 minutes. It does leave a very nasty taste in the back of the throat which is unavoidable. But overall i am very satisfied with the results from this spray

First off, the criticism about the "taste" is misleading, this is a nasal spray and not something you eat or drink. I agree, the "taste" is pretty bad - what it is, is the taste of the spray in your throat. No way around that, and I doubt "they" could do anything to change it. Overall, this works really, really well for my migraines. I take Imitrex for most migraines, but I usually get rebound migraines when I take Imitrex. When I do, this gets rid of them. I would NOT recommend taking this and going about your regular day - unless you've developed tolerance for it, because it does impair judgement and ability. I took it for a migraine once, and after a while, decided caffeine would help too (had a really bad migraine and caffeine usually does help) and so went to the store to get it - and realized that its not at all a good idea to drive while taking this. The only negative experience I've had is that some ignorant pharmacists treat you like you are a drug addict when they see you are taking this medication. I've had pharmacists at different stores - Longs, CVS, Walgreen's, CostCo, even private pharmacies - all treat me very badly because they assume I have a drug problem, not a pain problem. Very judgemental, and this medicine seems to bring that out in the more narrow-minded in the pharmacy community. It's gotten to where I hate to refill the prescrip, and am still searching for the "perfect" pharmacy.Read More Read Less

Have been on every kind of narcotic there is for the pain. I also suffer from seizures. this med gives me relief in about 10 minutes. Versus the 240 percocet and 120 30mg morphine pills a month I have been taking for the last 5 years. It does work.

I'm taking this drug for the first time. I had explained to my doctor that vicoden was making me feel flu like symptoms and I couldn't take it any more. This spray seems highly effective, although the taste is not great. I do still feel a similar high or tingling in my body, but nothing nearly as zombie like as other pain medications have made me feel. I would suggest this medication to anyone looking for pain relief that still needs to carry on about their day. I am a student and a waitress with major back pain and I think this will be my new savior. Read More Read Less

I found the side affects at first maybe some what unnerving and unpleasant it is well worth it. I found if you gentle sniff the medication in, and in short bursts it gets to the right spot (don't use it like a nasal spray, and try to clear out your sinuses). I used to do that and have to wait 3 to 4 hours for relief. When I told My DOC about it she said that relief should start with in 10 to 15 minutes. Thats why I would hate the taste also, ( you'll still taste it but not like you drank a toxic waste dump). I know this currently is my only option for treatment for migraines, I suffer from all migraine types except 1, I'm a guy :). I suffered a head injury 7 years ago and they went to the exstream and I can't use imitrex or Sumatriptans.Read More Read Less

I have found that this drug allows me to go about my day when I am experiencing a migraine, and has helped me reduce the number of visited to the emergency. My only problem with this drug is the taste. It would be nice if you were able to do something to make it a bit more pleasant.
