Anaspaz is a brand name for Hyoscyamine so I suppose it should have the same benefits but it doesn't seem to. I discontinued use because of dizziness.

I have been diagnosed with IBS and was subscribed ANASPAZ by my gynocologist. I suffer from sudden stomach pain and sudden need to use the restroom. I don't feel this way everyday so when I begin to feel this way, I place ANASPAZ under my tongue, it disolves, and pretty much nothing happens as far as helping with my situation. Anaspaz is the only medication that has controlled the pain of IBS for me without having side effect. I have had this problem since in my twenties when it was termed spastic colon and have tried many meds before finding relief with Anaspaz.

I don't feel this way everyday so when I begin to feel this way, I place ANASPAZ under my tongue, it disolves, and pretty much nothing happens as far as helping with my situation. When it does sometimes work, I feel that it is only because I want to beleive it will work. IBS causes me to be late to school and to work, and sometimes absent all together. When I go out to eat, I have to eat and run home. I thought that ANASPAZ would help, but the truth is, it hasn't. I have also tried Levisen perscribed by a clinic doctor and Amitiza from my GI doctor. I am still searching for a medicine that helps my condition.

This is the best medicine I have ever used for IBS cramping, it usually takes about 30 minutes to take away the pain completely. I am upset that it is no longer available.
