Anaspaz is the only medication that has controlled the pain of IBS for me without having side effect. I have had this problem since in my twenties when it was termed spastic colon and have tried many meds before finding relief with Anaspaz.

I have been diagnosed with IBS and was subscribed ANASPAZ by my gynocologist. I suffer from sudden stomach pain and sudden need to use the restroom. I don't feel this way everyday so when I begin to feel this way, I place ANASPAZ under my tongue, it disolves, and pretty much nothing happens as far as helping with my situation. I don't feel this way everyday so when I begin to feel this way, I place ANASPAZ under my tongue, it disolves, and pretty much nothing happens as far as helping with my situation. When it does sometimes work, I feel that it is only because I want to beleive it will work. IBS causes me to be late to school and to work, and sometimes absent all together. When I go out to eat, I have to eat and run home. I thought that ANASPAZ would help, but the truth is, it hasn't. I have also tried Levisen perscribed by a clinic doctor and Amitiza from my GI doctor. I am still searching for a medicine that helps my condition.Read More Read Less

Anaspaz is a brand name for Hyoscyamine so I suppose it should have the same benefits but it doesn't seem to. I discontinued use because of dizziness.

This is the best medicine I have ever used for IBS cramping, it usually takes about 30 minutes to take away the pain completely. I am upset that it is no longer available.
