I was prescribed Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray in 1981. I was pregnant and could not breath through my sinuses(I later found that I needed sinus surgery). I do not believe that I had incurred any problems from Vicks Nasal Spray, but I became addicted to it for well over 10 years. It was an expensive habit, for a person living below middle-class. Sinex effectively opened up my nostrils and I was able to breath almost immediately. My nose was still a bit runny though. A few minutes after I used Sinex I started having tension in my head. I felt like someone was squeezing my brain. So it was effective, however the side effects left me scared and unsatisfied.

Clears nose really well but I suffered from some of the side effects. Felt on edge for the duration of use.

This stuff works great but honestly gives me the jidders, I feel like my heart is racing and I’m super sped up. If I didn’t know better I would think I had taken a drug for speed! No one should feel this way taking just two puffs in each nostril. What in the world did I just buy ??? I feel like I could run a mile right now!!!!

I had anxiety, racing heart, palpitations, insomnia, and the jitters after using this medication. I did two small puffs in each nostril and felt like I was on speed. My husband also used prior to going to work and not knowing what I was going through at home - called me and said that he had so much anxiety and didn’t feel right. I hadn’t known he had used the spray that morning so we didn’t put two and two together until the following day. I didn’t know that it was the nasal spray that was causing my symptoms until the second time I used it. When I told him that’s when he inform me, he also had used it, and that’s probably what caused his anxiety and restlessness that he has never had before in his life. We threw it away and will not use again - which is unfortunate because it did help with my congestion/pressure. Read More Read Less

The spray works great for decongesting your nose, but the side effects are horrible. After I sprayed it in my nose, it works great, i could breath free for the first time. But when I woke up from the next day, I woke up with sore throat, I had accumulation of phlegm in my throat. I got fatigued and unwell, and i got bacterial infection. Went to the doctor for antibiotic. The spray sting the nose. For me, the side the effects was not worst it. You weight the consequences yourself and do what is best for you. I hope it helps. It does spray easily (the spray mechanism is well-designed) not and the quantity sprayed not enough

it gets the job done, but it is recommended to be used before your cold gets full blown- probably not as useful when your nose is already clogged and runny. i find when i ise this thought its a bit heavy and concentrated, when i spray it in my nose it burns, and as the medicine travels down my nasal cavity and throat it stings for an hour. it also leaves a bit of an alcohol-y taste/sensation. so if you guys are sensitive to that and aren't too keen with that experience this may not be for you. i dont mind the uncomfortable sensation just because i could onlynuse a number of products for colds (i have allergic reactions to most meds) so i just bear with this.Read More Read Less

Instant relief and easier to breathe, definitely worth the purchase as little else appears to work for cold

If your nose is totally blocked then it has no effect whatsoever. Even with some ability to inhale I couldn't notice any effect. Can't see the point.

It is a long time ago but I used vick nasal spray and had very nasty hallucinations. I then realised the bottle had been stored in a cold cupboard, had frozen and the menthol separated out; and remained separated, so I got a too concentrated dose with just one spray. Maybe if I'd given the bottle a good shake ot wouldn't have happened but it was a frightening experience

After I remove the green cap from the top of the bottle, I'm unable to use the pump to spray into my nostril. Because apparently they have some kind of childproof bulshit on it. And nothing tells you how to open it!

I usually use Otravin menthol, but store didn't have any in stock, chemist recommended Vicks Sinex saying it has menthol in it, how disappointing!!! First use it took forever to clear the nose to the point I could breathe comfortably!! Second time it caused sneezing & actually had the opposite effect to what it is supposed to do! Eventually went to sleep breathing thorough the mouth... Not recommended........ I.M.H.O... If you're looking for a decongestant spray that starts working straight away Otravin with Menthol is the go, your sinuses will say... WoW! Thanks for that! Read More Read Less

I do not believe that I had incurred any problems from Vicks Nasal Spray, but I became addicted to it for well over 10 years. It was an expensive habit, for a person living below middle-class. I found that a 12-hour nasal sprays dried my sinuses out too much, I started using sprays that lasted only four hours at a time and eventually, with the help of Nasalcort, five years ago, I was able to stop nasal sprays altogether. I believe that mentholyptus is extremely addictive to those that get relief when using it to open sinuses. Vicks should have a Buyer Beware Statement on all products containing this ingredient.Read More Read Less

I always used to use this years ago and wondered why I stopped, now I know, it,s because it gave me a really sore throat, my ears hurt and my head and neck hurt. will never buy this again. Vicks soother is ten times better and easier to use.

This stuff cleared up my sinus congestion, but it gave me a horrific headache and made me very nauseous and ill, for the full 12 hour duration. Definitely never using again
