My dentist prescribed dentagel for me to aid in the healing of inflamed gums due to a serious infection of my tooth. I was given a strong antibiotic and this gel to use daily. I had a root canal w/in a week and my gums were swollen for an additional 10 days after the antibiotic ran out. The gel really seemed to help and now I use it daily to prevent further tooth decay.
