I was admitted to the hospital for severed asthma. I had experience with the tablet form several years earlier, which gave me hives on my hands and was discontinued. I notified the ER physician that I thought I was allergic to this medication, but he gave it to me anyway. Initially the IV treatment relieved my symptoms, but after only a few minutes they returned and got worse. I was admitted to the hospital and placed on a ventilator. My asthma go so bad that my co2 levels rose to dangerous levels. My symptoms were finally relieved after several days with the use of high doses of prednisone.
