I just posted a long blurb about the effectiveness of Drixoral for my allergies. I got to reading the other posts and called the 800 number list in one of the posts. I called and found out that Drixoral is not being discontinued alltogether. They told me that the place that manufactures it is changing. The ingredients and doses are not going to change. Until it was taken off the market, this was the best meds for my allergies. I have not found anything that I can use now that will compare to it. Wish I could get it again...even some exprired at flea market.

I have many allergies and have been taking Drixoral Cold & Allergy once or twice a day for almost 30 years. It is the ONLY medicine that alleviates my symptoms, i.e., dizziness, headaches (almost feverish feeling),nausea, stuffiness, running nose, sneezing, burning eyes, etc. I also appreciate that Drixoral doesn't make me drowsy when driving or at work. Very disappointed when it was discontinued in the stores - no other medication comes close.

I experienced a runny nose with accompanying sniffling. My eyes were sensitive to light. These symptoms dissappeared about 30 minutes after my first pill. I took one pill at 7 AM and one pill at 7 PM. I did this for four days.

My husband suffers with allergies and absolutely loves this medicine. He get very good results and no side effects from it. The have recently taken it off the market and we can not find anything comparable. I would like to know why it has been taken off the market?

I have had very bad allergys since child hood,the70's thru the late 90's we're horrible.Nothing helped tried otc's perscriptions, then drug companys foud some lets say"magic"Now I take a 24 hour allergy medication&some days I still cannot breath,my throat seems to itch my eye balls which plugs my ears with what feels like fire, lets just say my lips&nose turn the same color and so raw. couldn't take it any more so I went to a Walgreens pharmasist&begged, for some other medication otc that can be taken along with the daily 24hr pill.I was so relieved to find DRIXORAL works!!!Since the Sutafed issues(thanks t.week.erz)=( I was still more than willing to go thru *the whole ID&signature issue just to have this"wonder medication".Now I'm mizerable!!! sure another pharmisist was trying to help with a substitute,4-6hr otc (*with above procedure)but it helps for 2-3 hours this cannot be goot for anyones kidenys or liver to have to pop so many pills!!! Now i feel like an addict trying to score RELIEF,Who can be the Voice of All of us sufferers?! I would hate to hear some1 harmed themselves on this medication,But what kind of harm are we to ourselves missing work or lashing out on innocent ppl cause we're suffering daily? PLEASE bring back DRIXORAL or an equivlant to the medication.Signed only 2months of suffering what will be the ripple affect of a life time of misery?! Read More Read Less

Drixoral is the only medication that stops my allergy symptoms. Why was it suddenly pulled from pharmacy shelves? I've tried claritin and allegra-D and sudafed, but they do not control my allergies. Please bring this medication back!! I can't breathe!

To my horror I've found this drug is no longer available. I have used Drixoral for over 20 years and must have it to function. I've tried about everything else there is and nothing works as well. SHAME ON YOU, Schering-Plough, for showing your complete lack of regard for the welfare of those that depend on Drixoral! Schering-Plough has discontinue the drug with no notice or attempt at seeing that their customer needs were met. Their ethics are no better than a dope dealer peddling on the street, in for the money with no concern for the end user's suffering. I'm looking into buying shares now so that I may attend the shareholders meetings to further express my displeasure.Read More Read Less

The bummer is that no new shipments will be going out in 2008. It will be available in 2009. My advise is to start letting your fingers do the walking and call pharmacies in different areas. Some still have a supply. Once you find a place, hit them every couple of days and stock up. The number to call for the consumer hotline is 800-317-2165. Give them a call and voice your displeasure.Read More Read Less

I have year round allergies. I'm allergic to things in the air; ie. dust, pollen, mold, ragweed, etc. I've been taking Drixoral for 20+ years. This is the only allergy medicine that works for me. One pill a day is all I take. Sudafed, Claritan-D, prescription meds.....none of them work as well as Drixoral. For example....I ran out of Drixoral last week and couldn't find it anywhere. The Pharmacist suggested Claritan-D. I took six Claritan-D tablets in a nine hour period. This is 12 hour medicine, mind you. My nose was running like a faucet. I'd bend over and the snot would literally pour out of my nose. My co-worker found Drixoral at a Pharmacy near her house and picked it up and brought it to work for me. Within two hours, all my allergy symptoms disappeared. Both nostrils were clear and I could breathe through my nose for the first time in days. Now I'm hearing that Drixoral is going to be discontinued. I really hope that's not the case, as I don't know what I'd do to combat my allergies.Read More Read Less
