I have ceased use for 5 months but side effects still are evident: low libido, impotence, low or no semen. It is basically a chemical castration.

Worked ok when I first started taking it just as all of these same sort of meds do however after a couple of months they all seem to lose there effectiveness. I have a very hard time getting a stream especially at night.

I was prescribed dutasteride by my dermatologist for hair loss. I was a little leary of taking a med made for men but my dr assured me it was safe. It took a little less than a week for everyone to notice my hair growing back. I now have a full head of hair & so does my dermatologist as he uses it as well.

BPH with some bleeding . Cystoscopy showed enlarged prostate . Duodart stopped bleeding very quickly. Some slight loss of libido and occasional retrograde ejaculation. High field MRI showed no suspicion of cancer. PSA stable for last 4 years at 2.5. Take Duodart every second day on advice from excellent urologist .

This treatment is a chemical castration. No semen production, no eyaculation. I suspended it 2 month ago and symptoms still there. My PSA that never went up, in October was 4.5, letâ??s see what happened this month.

My PSA was 7.9 when I started this six months ago. Last month my PSA was 3.4 the lowest it has ever been. The only change was taking this med.

I had been taking a combination of Flomax & saw palmetto. I had to continue using them until the Avodart built up in my system. I take them no longer. The one drawback is that there is no generic available as yet.
