I am in the process of tapering off suboxone after being prescribed it for the past 3 years. IT SUCKS. As you may have read elsewhere, the withdrawals from this drug are more substantial and longer lasting than coming off opiates, and I would absolutely attest to that fact. I have been an addict for 20 years. I have tried rehab several times and I have experience with just about every method known for coming off of opiates. Suboxone works best for people that are just interested in being able to function normally and have stopped pursuing getting high. If I would've known the difficulty of getting off suboxone I would've never started taking it! The withdrawals from this is a million times worst then any painkiller out there!!!

this med literally saved my life combined with being active in my 12 step program. the one thing that just tore me up was cravings, first dose and no more whatsoever what a relief!!
