I have been taking Digest Basic by Enzymedica for several years and have had no side effects. This brand has ingredients and fillers that I am not sensitive to. I am sensitive to many ingredients. Always read the ingredients on the labels. Digestive enzymes are not all alike. Reviews here don't mention what brand they are taking, so it is hard to find them helpful. Also, this product has mor...

My Ulcerative colitis has been severely active for a year now. Meds weren't working. Tried these in hopes of symptom relief. Immediate relief. I still produce blood and some diarrhea, but now I don't constantly blood and defecate into my panties and I'm not bloated all the time.

I used Digestive Enzymes because I've been having bloating, gas, constipation, etc. The effects for those reasons were great, BUT, I'm diabetic and immediately my sugar level increased. Found out amalayse may do this in some diabetics. So, please be aware if you use this product.

Always read the ingredients on the labels. Digestive enzymes are not all alike. Reviews here don't mention what brand they are taking, so it is hard to find them helpful. Also, this product has more potent formulas available, and I am not comfortable taking any more enzymes than necessary to help. I have had pelvic support problems with surgeries and gall bladder surgery, so my digestive system needs help. Read More Read Less

It work's sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. Mostly if you have small or light meals you will digest faster than usual. Even on bigger meals you'll digest faster, but it won't eliminate acid-reflux completely. If your tummy is already upset or have the stomach flu, digestive enzymes may help but may also make you feel more sick at the same time (imo I'd rather not take it).

I have been taking famotidine for quite a while and have been concerned about the side effects of that medicine. After having trouble with my colon and a change in bowel habits, I researched and found that taking a digestive enzymes could help me rather than using the famotidine. I noticed a difference in just one day. I began taking one capsule of Doctor's Best Enzymes All Vegetarian after supper. I feel much better than when on the famotidine. I can't believe it. I have an appointment December 20 with a gastrointestinal doc. I am extrmemely happy so far. Read More Read Less
