I was diagnosed with Pseudotumor Cererbi in Nov 2009. I went to the eye DR for a flashing in my left eye and went from there. My eye test at that time was great 20/20 so no vision issues at that time. I went to see the neuro opthamologist and he did few test including a field vision test and my vision was fine but the fluid was bad in the left eye(flashing eye) and moderate in the right. In D...

The side effects that everyone talks about are real! This medication in the brand name worked awesome but in the generic it didn't work at all. I have taken this medicine ona nd off for 20 years and it has saved my vision a number of times. I jad gastric bypass surgery 4 years ago to help stop the flare ups and it has worked incredibely. I haven't had to take the diamox since then. Learn to live with the side effects so tht you will not go blind.

I have been using this because of swelling around my optic nerves. i had severe vision loss, but i have had great results with this but the side effect are horrible. Finger and lip tingling, extreme fatigue, i am so tired all the time, ringing in the ears and no appetite what so ever. i am taking a high dose, but i just can't believe how it is effecting me. I am like a different person when i take the med, but if i dont take it i don't see. it works well but these effects are rough!

I took diamox recently to avoid altitude sickness during a trip to the mountains. I was able to avoid the symptoms for altitude sickness but I did have some of the side effects that are mentioned here. Tingling in the finger tips, taste problems and diarrhea were common for the entire duration while on this medication. On the last day of my stay in the mountains I stopped taking the drug. By that afternoon the tingling stopped and the taste problems went away. The diarrhea is still sticking around though. The next time I head to the mountains, I will look into another alternative to diamox.Read More Read Less

If Diamox is intended to make you unrinate, then that it does. This drug seeks out every drop of moisture in your body and within what seems like minutes, sends you to the bathroom for some geyser action. It makes sense to drink alot of water in an effort to replace all that you're losing. It did relieve the pressure around my eyes, allowing me for the first time in weeks to roll them at my husband.

I have been using this medication for the past 4 months. The first 60 days were very effective. On the other hand it has not been helping. Still dealing with bouts of blurred vision ,lots of headaches and become very tired with headaches when taking walks longer than 20 mins. Lots of tingling in legs, finger tips and lips at times. So my opinion is that its helpful for short term but long term is questionable. Will continue to take it until further direction from physician.

I have been on this med for 3 months. It helped relieve the pressure on optic nerves/discs. Helped very little with headaches and sound of pulse in head.Tingling in extremities and mouth bothersome as well as fatigue and shortness of breath on occasion from low fluid volume. Better than going blind! On a low dose, nervous about increasing dose as my MD wants due to discomfort of side effects.

This medication has horrible side effects but without it I was facing vision loss. This drug has helped delay surgery by a whole year. The side effects are really bad in the begining but over time most will fade. Drink lots of orange juice, it will help stop the tingling.

I have only been on this medication for 4 days; however, the side effects are quite bothersome. I have double vision, very tired, loss of apatite and difficulty even walking very far. Perhaps these symptoms will disappear with time. Additionally, I have not noticed any change in my affliction. Perhaps to, that will change with time.

Using this medication made me very sick. I believe the dose prescribed was too much. After the first dose I began to feel sick and couldn't eat. Then when I did try to eat i vomited everything up. Nothing was able to stay in my stomach while I was taking the diamox. It took a while for doctors to be convinced I should stop taking this so after approx. 1 week I stopped taking it and was after losing quite a bit of weight. It obviously wasn't a good experience, my suggestion is to start with a small dose and work up. Not start with a large dose as I was forced to do.Read More Read Less
