My doctor suggested that it might take a few days before I noticed any difference when I started taking this drug. I could tell something the NEXT morning. I am concerned about long term use but it has allowed me to have a better quality of life. I recommended it to my mother's doctor when nothing else helped her anxiety. It has helped. I took this medication for three months after my divorce. I was having panic attacks and could not stop crying and totally distraught. After three months I felt like my old self and was able to discontinue the medication. I have't neede it since. In my opinion it was a life saver.

I tried different anti-depressants for about a year and finally started taking Paxil. I function so much better on Paxil, I can live my life with out being worried all the time. This is the only anti-depressant that has worked for me with minimal side effects. I do not plan on stopping the medication ever unless i get pregnant, which will be hard to go with out it.
