I have Neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia. I have been severely dehydrated and sick from the treatments. My heart flushed and they wanted to put a tube through my chest to continue treatments. Since I had a reaction I said no. Doctors don't tell you everything. I refuse to leave the hospital until I receive more fluid before leaving. I take tylenol and benadryl before treatment starts. This helps with the fevers and aches. I also take neausea medicine before and after to stop myself from dry heaving. If you are pregnant I really recommend getting extra fluid before leaving. The medication makes you feel like you're dying. You're weak and feel sick up to two days afterwards (or more depending on your immune system). Also keep drinking more water and fluids afterwards. Sometimes the liter of fluid that I do get is not enough. Make sure that you are taking tylenol and benadryl the day after as well. I had to be rushed into the ER twice, once with oxygen (during the entire time in the ER). This is a serious treatment so only take it if you need to survive. So far my pregnancy is going good with the baby surviving, but it has it's toll on the expectant mother. The doctors do not consider your pregnancy to be high risk, so take it easy. If you are working take the next day off as well as your treatment day. No exceptions on those two days off. If you are working make sure you keep up on fluids. Always have water near you. Always have tylenol and benadryl with you as well. Read More Read Less

I received shots to boost my immune system as I have fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. The first time I had a severe headache one whole day and felt good for two days. The second time I have been having headaches for 3 weeks. I think it means it is detoxing my system but YIKES - I'm tired of a pounding head...
