I was injected with marcaine to desensitize my palm area for surgery to release trigger finger on my index and ring fingers. Two injections were required for each finger. Each injection felt like my palm was being touched by a hot branding iron. The pain, although lasting only several seconds for each injection, was the most intense I have ever felt. There has to be a more "patient friendly" anesthesia available. I feel my surgeon or the surgical center's anesthesiologist made a poor choice to use marcaine. The surgery was conducted pain-free and I required no pain-killing drugs during my recovery.Read More Read Less
