I visited an opthamologist for an approval for cosmetic eye surgery. He disapproved and prescribed this drug. After a week, I noticed weeping, discolored, and bloodshot eyes. Also, I have severe itching all over my body AND eye twitching in both eyes AND blurry vision. This may be an anomaly, but I stopped using the medication and am seeing a different doctor.

After 5 months of the recommended twice daily use, I developed an eye twitch that I initially thought was due to stress since it was only in the right eye. After worrying for my eye for two weeks, I coincidentally discontinued use because I lost the bottle for three days and my twitch diminished greatly. Every time I discontinued use (3 times) after 2-3 days my eye would go back to normal. These drops made my eyes appear more red, and my eyes became more sensitive and dry. I do not think this medication helped me. Read More Read Less

I use this for mast cell. It clears up my vision and restores overall feeling of healthiness with my eyes. The on going headaches have cleared a well. The only issue is that it burns and itches in the inside corner if both eyes most of the time after first putting the drops in. The pain clears after about 30 mins.

Eyes have been very red and dry for 5 years. Been seeing a dry eye specialist for over 2 years and he tried everything. Restasis Xiidra Doxycycline Fish Oil Hot compress Cold compress Antihistimane ect ect with not help for me. He sent me to someone else because he said he ran out of options and wants me to get a second opinion. Went to a Cornea specialist who has done surgeries for years. After a very close look at my eyes and tear testing which is extremely dry she flipped over top and bottom eyelids and could see a lot of inflammation all over eyelids. She said since nothing else has helped you and humidity seems to make your eyes redder that you probably are having a chronic allergic reaction (Pets, Dust, or seasonal for some people). I believe I'm extremely allergic to dust mites that are everywhere. She prescribed Cromolyn Sodium Eye drops 4 times a day. So far this has been a life saver!! And I tried everything and nothing has helped like cromolyn sodium. I now use that 4 times a day and some preservative free tears and am 100 times better. The embarrassment is going away. It was so bad that some of my veins in eyes are permanent and will never completely go away but they have faded so much with cromolyn sodium 4 times a day. It's also a very safe eye drop no side effects as long as eye drop preservatives don't bother you. Read More Read Less

Initial use of the Cromolyn was beneficial, but continued use has created a senstivity to the eye drop itself. Continued use seems to exacerbate the condition.
